What’s The Scoop is located in the newer Washington Square Town Center complex on Hurffville-Cross Keys Rd, near the Verchio’s Market and Deli.

What’s the scoop on… What’s The Scoop?
We stopped in last weekend and caught up with owner Stacy Valerio, who is a Washington Township resident. Stacy at the time was giving her family a tour of the new ice cream shop… and a taste of her delicious ice cream!
Stacy and the team have been working late this week on the final décor touches, and come Friday they’ll be ready to scoop!
Opening day is April 1st, 2022
As mentioned, Stacy is a resident of Washington Township, and actually… she grew up in “Township” and graduated from Washington Township High School!
Stacy joins a growing list of enterprising “Township” residents who not only have taken the leap into opening their own business, but have chosen their hometown as the place to start that adventure!
We asked Stacy how show got interested in opening an ice cream shop…
Ever since I was a young kid I have always loved ice cream and water ice. I believe it should be in an entirely separate food group of its own and as I always say, “who doesn’t love ice cream?”
My profession for the past 15 years has been as a scientist. I now step into another challenge of combining science and my love for ice cream. Every single homemade recipe is a true art and science, made to perfection.

While pizza shops may still outnumber ice cream shops in our area, there definitely is some solid competition in the frozen dessert category… and Stacy is looking to set What’s The Scoop apart from others in the area…
What’s The Scoop will feature HOME MADE hand-dipped ice cream, as well as water ice and soft serve.
And of course that means delicious and unique sundaes, milk shakes and more!
When 42Freeway stopped in last weekend the decor was just going in, but the Specialty Sundae menu boards were up and they give us a clue of some of the deliciousness we can expect from What’s the Scoop.
A sample of the innovative sundaes includes:
- The Vickster Delight: Hand dipped vanilla ice cream on FRIED homemade pound cake, drizzled with caramel sauce, topped with whipped cream and a cherry.
- Jess’s Cookie Jar: Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream with hot fudge & Oreos, topped with whipped cream and a cherry.
- Johnny B Goode: Hand dipped vanilla ice cream with fresh strawberry and Nutella, topped with whipped cream and a cherry
A big bonus… Stacy plans on operating What’s The Scoop year round!
What’s The Scoop is located in the new Washington Square Town Center, which is located at the front of the Woodmont development on Hurffville-Cross Keys Road… sitting between Verchio’s Produce and the Virtua Health Facility.
What’s The Scoop has a prime corner location situated at the entrance to the larger complex. As you drive in, the ice cream shop is directly to the left.
Exciting Things for Washington Square Town Center
Earlier this month Bison Coffee opened at the other end of the same building.
Soon to come is Santucci’s Pizza. We looked in through the glass and they are making real progress with the build-out. The front counter is mostly in place and a mural is going up behind the counter. We don’t have details on the opening but I would imagine they are hoping for this Spring.
Also in the complex is a large Rothman Orthopaedics office, and Axia Women’s Health recently moved into a new building.
Also located in the complex are Lavish Nails, Strive Physical Therapy, Pet Check and Wills Eye Physicians.
