Gloucester Township
Fashion Retailer Forever 21 has filed for bankruptcy and put together a list of 178 stores they plan on closing. Deptford Mall, Cherry Hill Mall, and Hamilton Mall are on the list but there is a lot of hope they remain open. Company officials seem confident better lease deals can be negotiate. The status of the planned Gloucester Premium Outlets location in Blackwood is unknown at this time.
A 180 unit townhome development has started lot clearing behind the Lowe’s and Target stores on Berlin-Cross Keys Rd in Gloucester Township. The properties were originally approved in 2014, and are just being developed now.
Popeyes Chicken locations around the country are being overwhelmed with customers trying to get a taste of the new chicken sandwich, including our Blackwood, Turnersville and Lawnside stores! The craziness is because… well word is, it’s good enough to hang with (or beat) the Chik-Fil-A sandwich. In our area traffic is backing out on to the highways! It’s been widely reported that the Dave and Busters coming to Gloucester Premium Outlets is opening Spring 2020. But no one knows when the Round One venue at the Deptford Mall will be opening… until now. 42Freeway has literally translated the Round One Japanese Quarterly earnings report to get the expected opening date for the Deptford Mall store, and it’s surprising. Also, this is a two-part post as we interviewed a Dave and Busters Executive who knows the business and our area, and I should be posting that Friday!
