Discount retailer Ocean State job Lot is officially open in Deptford NJ, taking over the former Toys R Us building (directly across from the mall). We stopped in this morning and share our thoughts and photos. Oh and I have a short commentary video!

Deptford joins the seafood boil craze, with Boiling House Express expected to open the first week of December! They will be located across from Forman Mills on Rt 41. This Express location is from the same folks who operate Cherry Hill’s larger Boiling House restaurant.
The store signage may not be up yet, but Ocean State Job Lot discount retailer in Deptford, opens in One Week! The official day is Friday November 20th! But be on the lookout for a possible quiet pre-opening on Thursday. They are taking over the former Toys R Us building located directly across from the Deptford Mall.
The Round 1 Entertainment facility in the Deptford Mall (NJ) opened today Oct 24, 2020 for their “soft” opening! We were there at the 10am opening (got a free T-shirt!), and grabbed video of the entire facility! Round 1 is a mix of state-of-the-art arcade and prize games, billiards, bowling, karaoke, crane games and a full BAR! Yes… the Deptford Mall now has BOWLING! A 42Freeway area Halloween story… on a global scale! Travel Channel’s Ghost Nation starts it’s new season this week featuring the Zone 13 Tattoo shop in Deptford NJ, which sits in the heart of our retail mecca behind the BJ’s Warehouse! And yes… the Zone 13 Tattoo Shop is HAUNTED!
At the September 9th Deptford Planning Board meeting, approval was awarded for two new warehouses to be developed on a wooded property adjacent to the long closed Kinsley landfill. The two planned buildings are sized at 891,260 sq ft and a 150,215 sq ft. In a change from earlier depictions, all traffic will move through Route 41 (Hurfville Road). This plan will also include updates to the Five Points intersection. Along Rt 41 they also plan a small retail building which will be presented at a later date.
