Garden State Storage is a new 122,468 sq ft storage facility under development on Sicklerville Road in Gloucester Township.
The location is close to the Route 42 exit, a short distance from the Super Wawa there. Villari’s Lakeside is about 1/4 of a mile away to the East.
Legacy Developers out of Haddonfield NJ are building the new facility, and in a March update at their Facebook page they said they were about 4 months from completion… so lets estimate that as “End of Summer 2022”
This project was before various town and county groups a few times over the recent years (based on documents found online).
42Freeway had not previously reported on the project though. In the future we plan on keeping up with all Storage Facility and Warehouse projects in the area.
Garden State Storage – Sicklerville Road
The previously heavily wooded property is 5.5 acres total, with 4.05 acres on the left side being used for the five storage facility buildings.
When completed, the Garden State Storage facility will total 710 units in two different types of storage.
- One Interior Climate Controlled Storage Building: Three story climate controlled storage facility of approximately 90,000 sq ft.
- Four 1-story Buildings: A traditional “pull-up car” format with units on both sides of each building.
As part of the approval process the lot lines of the larger property were adjusted, splitting the property into two segments.
With the storage buildings compromising the largest portion of the property, there will be an additional 1.46 acre undeveloped lot to the right of the larger building. This would be reserved for future (unknown) projects.
In front of the 3-story building will be a 14-stall parking lot. For the 1-story buildings, typcally the asphalt goes right up to all of the units’ bay doors and renters can pull their vehicle right up to the unit to load and unload.
A stormwater management system is also included as part of this project.
