A new Five Below store for Glassboro is set to open next week on August 26th, in the Collegetown Shopping Center on Delsea Drive.
The are currently hiring for this store and well… basically all Five Below stores are now hiring (Five Below Career Site)
Five Below is a fun store for kids and families featuring items under $5… with a few selections at a higher price.
It’s the type of store you can visit regularly and find something interesting each time, and rarely can you just “pop-in”. Browsing is basically a requirement!
The Collegetown Shopping Center is located on Delsea Drive and over the last few years it has gone through an amazing transformation adding Lidl, Big Lots, Ross, Chipotle, and Chase Bank.
Also coming soon to the same shopping center is a new building which will be home to Tropical Smoothie Cafe and European Wax Center.
The timing of the store opening could not be better, with final school shopping winding down, Halloween shopping in play and of course the biggest shopping time of the year… Christmas.
Five Below Glassboro!
42Freeway first brought readers the news of Five Below coming to Glassboro back in May.
The location is somewhat centrally positioned in the main shopping center, and takes over the left portion of the unit which previously was a Staples, and closed in 2019.
Five Below is a Philadelphia “born and bred” discount retailer, focusing on kid’s items all priced at under $5. Well most under $5. They have branched out a bit.
The stores are whimsical and fun with attractive lighting, signage and displays. Add in the colorful product selection, its makes for a very whimsical shopping experience.
The main Five Below “Worlds” are Tech, Create, Play, Candy, Room, Style, Party, New & Now… but they have products in even more categories like Sports and pets!
While many traditional store retailers are feeling the pain of competing with internet shopping, it seems Five Below stores are thriving!

Five Below is growing fast after starting in 2002 with their first store… in the Philadelphia suburb town of Wayne Pa.
Today their About Us page says they opened their 1,200th store (Union Square New York) and sales of over $2 billion! Their media kit states there are 1,500 more stores to come!
Five Below has a flagship store in the “Lits Brothers” building in Philadelphia which is close to their headquarters and recently signed a lease to bring a signature flagship store to Time Square New York (as reported by Chain Store Age)
