The Jersey GOAT Grill + Public House is OPEN! Doors opened today at 3:00pm at the Cross Keys Rd. in Gloucester Township, which takes over the building which previously was the Tilted Kilt.
This new trendy casual eatery and bar concept is being developed by Alisha and Jay Miller, who are known for their successful Rack’s Bar locations.
The Millers are changing things up with the Jersey GOAT by focusing on an elevated menu and a bigger focus on craft cocktails.
“The GOAT” is a casual-but-trendy place where couples can enjoy a quiet dinner together with delicious martinis, stop in after work for a delicious cold beer, bring the whole family in to celebrate grandmom’s birthday, or catch the football action in the fall on the numerous TV’s.
I was invited in earlier this afternoon by Alisha, Jay and manager Matt… to check out the beautiful remodel ahead of the opening day crowds.
Alisha and the team have done an amazing effort to transform the space into an amazing all-new experience, without having to spend many months on major renovations.
BTW: Even though there is “Shore Traffic” this weekend, I can get from Deptford to Cross Keys Rd without ever getting on 42… Sicklerville Road is basically a straight shot, I travel County House Road which becomes Sicklerville Road, to Cross Keys
Honestly the building is not that old, and has “good bones” in it is room layout, bar positioning and outdoor patio area.
So Alisha did the perfect amount of upgrades to maximize the true positives of the space, while changing it up to make everything new.
To be clear… every surface of the interior was changed. Every wall was repainted, every wood surface was changed. New bar tops were installed, as well as new seating which offers a variety of dining and beveraging options.
The bathrooms at the Jersey GOAT are all new… remodeled down to all new drywall, tile and fixtures.
I wanted to get these preview photos online, so keeping my commentary in this article short!
I’m actually stopping back to the Jersey GOAT later today and will grab a few more photos with folks in the restaurant, and add them into this article… so be sure to check back later this evening!
Chef Felix Orteg leads the kitchen.. who created what looks to be an amazing and creative new menu. I shared a few of his early teaser images, and I can’t wait to stop back to taste a few things!
Felix has been successful at several well known Philadelphia area kitchens such as Volver, Barcelona Wine bar, and even Executive Chef at Catelli Duo in Moorestown when the first opened in 2017… so it is awesome to add another amazing chef talent to the core 42Freeway area!
