The Jersey GOAT Grill and Public House opens Friday June 30th on Cross Keys Rd. in Gloucester Township. Doors open the first day at 3pm!
This new trendy casual eatery and bar concept is being developed by Alisha Miller and her team who are known for their successful Rack’s Bar locations.
While the Jersey GOAT will carry the same high level experience that Alicia offers her other restaurants, the team is looking to change things up for the Jersey GOAT with an elevated menu, and a focus on craft cocktails
Alicia has brought in chef Felix Ortega who has been successful at several well known Philadelphia area kitchens such as Volver, Barcelona Wine bar, and even executive chef at Catelli Duo in Moorestown when the first opened in 2017.
The Jersey GOAT menu will have some roots in classic pub fair, but Felix is taking everything three levels up! They’ve been teasing the menu this week on social media and some quick examples of of what to expect are:
- 13oz Bone-in Pork Chop Milanese with Arugula, Grape Tomatoes, Pecorino Romano and Green Oil
- Soft Boiled Eggs with Spicy Tuna, Togarashi and Chorizo Crumble
- Classic Brownie over Burnt fluff, Vanilla Ice Cream and Graham Cracker Crumble
And while the new eatery retains the large draft beer tap system of the prior restaurant, a big focus will be put on craft cocktails!
The Jersey Goat Grill and Public House
The Jersey GOAT is being brought to South Jersey by Alicia Miller, her husband Jay and the team from her growing restaurant group.
The Cross Keys Road property was previously a Tilted Kilt location which closed in April.
42Freeway first brought news on the plans for the new restaurant a week later, when it was originally planned to be called the Local GOAT, but management has since decided to go with a name which further represents its local New Jersey ownership.. The Jersey GOAT Grill and Public House.
I had a chance to stop in during the remodeling.
Overall the core structure of the building remains the same, but the team has made significant interior décor changes. While at the time it was not even halfway complete I could see that the design changes we’re going to introduce a completely new dining and “beveraging” experience to customers.
Alicia has plans to do more with the building in the future but her main goal right now was to get the restaurant reopened… she and her team are excited to show South Jersey their new décor, menu and craft cocktails! An all new culinary experience!
I’m keeping this one short for now as later in the week I’ll have a chance to visit the Jersey GOAT, talk with the team, and get a chance to see the inside of the restaurant… and share with 42Freeway.com readers!
And for those looking for a job, the Jersey GOAT is still hiring. Check their website for details.
