The Deptford Eventure Center is ready for its big public Open House preview which will take place this Sunday June 2nd, from 12 noon to 4:00 PM.
The Eventure Center is a full remodel of the former Deptford Skating Center space, which features an all new multi-purpose indoor activity flooring perfect for basketball, hockey, gaga ball… and yes, pickleball!
For the summer the Deptford Eventure Center will offer a children’s summer day camp “Camp Eventure”, and in the fall will shift more of the focus to indoor pickleball courts and private rentals.
Additionally, the Arctic Eventure ice cream and water ice stand is now open! With its location directly across from the Deptford Dog Park you can stop over with Fido after a fun afternoon out, and get a free pup cup with a “human” purchase!
Deptford Eventure Center
Two Gloucester County residents Tim and Chuck brought this exciting project together… both gentleman have an extensive background in the recreational space, including many years working in leadership roles at the Gloucester County YMCA.
I visited with the guys at the center back in April just as they were starting the interior model… the space looks amazing today but I wish I had a photo from three months ago of what it used to look like!
The transformation back to a fun activity space for the community is amazing!
The Eventure team has done an awesome job of developing a state-of-the-art indoor air conditioned space which makes for the perfect summer camp for your kids, and also will be an awesome pickleball court facility for everyone… as well as making the indoor space available for private rentals such as team practices.
The facility features a very polished, professional yet fun look… in a safe environment offering a variety of different activities for children and adults.
Whether you are looking for a fun party space for a kid’s birthday, an evening 60th birthday pickleball party… or a sports team looking for an indoor practice space, the Deptford Eventure center can likely accommodate you!
This is one of those 42Freeway articles where I know the public can really stand behind! Bringing back an iconic local facility and making it available to the community again, all without chopping down a single tree or really impacting traffic in any way.
Many in the area are sure to remember the building when it was the Deptford Skating Center, which for me goes back to the 70s. In most recent years the building was used as a warehouse for a commercial product distributor and unfortunately the original hardwood roller skating floor was removed at that time.
Today, the Deptford Eventure Center features an all new indoor floor surface which is perfect for pickleball, basketball, hockey, gaga ball and more.
The layout of the floor is smartly done to support 5 pickleball courts layouts but then also has the markings for basketball and other indoor activities.
Also available within the facility is a full snack bar area which has been brought back to life from its long ago roller skating center days.
As you would expect, adjacent to the snack bar area is a cafe seating space. Beyond that is a small arcade area and “ticket” game space which also includes a prize redemption section.
There are multiple private party areas for you to host your child’s party or maybe an event for your adult friends in the evening. The signature room is the Princess Room which utilizes the existing arched interior windows and a smart redesign to give the room a castle-like feel.. perfect for your little Princess or Knight.
Summer Camp Eventure
The Eventure team has done a great job preparing their website with likely all of the information and answers to questions that you need, including an online booking system for the summer camp aspects.
But honestly, with this Sunday June 2nd being the public open house, the entire Eventure staff will be on hand so you can come in to check out the facility and ask all the questions that you have!
The camp starts June 17th and offers a changing weekly “Camp Theme!”
Week #1 is Summer Throwdown which is a celebration of the start of the summer! Kids will play, eat and dance their way to the biggest summer party around!
Week #2 is Carnival Week, where Deptford becomes the Greatest Show in NJ! Carnival games, activities, and maybe even time for the kids to share their talents with the group.

But again, likely the best option is to make it to the Open House June 2nd. Plus wouldn’t it be really cool to just relive a nostalgic part of your own childhood, getting to walk through the former skating center space again!?
