Their original pretzel bakery location had become a beloved part of downtown Woodbury NJ, offering fresh pretzels and “pickle nickel” pretzels, but a fire 3 years ago abruptly shut the business down. This weekend they celebrate their official grand opening at their new West Deptford location, this time around starting out with Ice Cream, Coffee, and Baked goods.
West Deptford resident Mark Rossi, and his two partners Keith Rossi and Albert Mastrando. spent countless hours looking for a new location where they could grow the business to include other products, such as ice cream.
It was a long and bumpy road from their last days in Woodbury three years ago, and the group eventually moved their business over to West Deptford. The Grove Road location is smartly positioned next to a middle school, at the edge of a large suburban neighborhood, and also close to the West Deptford office park. One location with several potential customer types.
After several weeks of soft opening, A Taste of Philly celebrates their grand opening this weekend.
The grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony is Friday September 8th, with Senator Steve Sweeney presiding over the event, and Superintendent Steven Crispin and Jeff Hansen perform the ribbon cutting ceremony.
On September 9th, A Taste of Philly will be hosting a Yard Sale and Craft Sale, with Team Urban Burners offering delicious BBQ.
Currently for the new store, they are featuring Ice Cream, Coffee and Baked goods. The coffee is from Revolution Coffee, baked goods from Summit Bakery, and they will also be selling Pizza bowls and Pizza Cones.
Other specialties include Java Shakes (10oz of Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate, scoop of Colombian Coffee Ice Cream with Choc Water Ice).
They hope to soon get back to their roots… making and selling fresh pretzels at the store.
