Camden County Updates Evesham Road Project; Glendora Restaurant Area Easily Accessible

Camden County has provided 42Freeway with an update on the $3.94 million Evesham Road improvement project extending through Gloucester Township and into Runnemede.

The eastern portion of the project, running from the Black Horse Pike through an area with several restaurants down to Schubert Avenue (Triton), is now substantially completed. Only minor finishing work (driveways) remains in that area.

Evesham Road Improvement Work – East section (Black Horse Pike to Triton) is substantially complete)… easy to access the local restaurants and businesses.

Meanwhile, the western portion of Evesham Road—from West Clements Bridge Road (Route 41) to the Black Horse Pike—continues to see road closures and more significant construction. About two more months of work are expected before the entire project is finished.

Camden County now says its goal is to have the project fully completed by the end of November.

Western portion of the Evesham Road Roadway effort still sees road closures.

The extensive roadway project was first announced in the Spring of 2026. At the time, the construction schedule called for substantial completion within 150 days and full completion within 180 calendar days.

The overall project covers Evesham Road from Clements Bridge Road (Rt 41) through the Black Horse Pike intersection and north to Schubert Avenue (at Triton).

Improvements include roadway reconstruction and resurfacing, along with the installation of new concrete curbing, sidewalks and driveway aprons. ADA-accessible curb ramps are also being added at intersections throughout the project area.

Significant retaining wall sections are being developed along the western portion of the roadway, closer to West Clements Bridge Road. The walls will help support raised properties particularly for the creation of new sidewalks which did not exist previously on this high traveled, yet still suburban roadway.

Carmen’s Table is a newer Glendora restaurant that was feeling the impacts of the road project. Owner Roselyn is ecstatic to have the project completed, and the sidewalks and roadway look amazing.

Eastern Glendora Business District Accessible

For businesses in the easter portion of the Evesham Road project area, the construction work is essentially finished.

Visitors traveling through the area will find new asphalt, curbing, sidewalks and driveway aprons already in place. Some minor finishing work remains to a few driveways, but access to the local restaurants and businesses is now significantly easier.

Latinas and Chef Bo are two of the Glendora restaurants that are happy to see their section of Evesham Road project is completed.

This Glendora business district includes a variety of popular restaurants and eateries, including Carmen’s Table, Latina’s, Chef Bo, Chang One, Jack’s Country, G&M Deli and others. They are all open and easily accessible with nice new smooth concrete and asphalt!

Just past Triton High School, just today the new Peppino’s Pizza opened in the center adjacent to Acme.

The completed streetscape improvements give this section of Evesham Road a fresh appearance while also providing safer and more accessible pedestrian connections.

Southern Portion Remains Closed

The southern portion of Evesham Road remains closed to through traffic as crews continue working between the Black Horse Pike and Route 41.

While the exact work zone may shift as construction progresses, traffic is generally unable to travel completely through this section of Evesham Road.

According to the county, approximately six to eight more weeks of curb and sidewalk improvements remain. Once that work is finished, crews will begin the final pavement work, which is expected to take another one to two weeks.

That schedule places the anticipated completion of the entire project near the end of November.

Camden County thanked the residents and businesses affected by the construction for their cooperation and patience as crews work to complete the remaining improvements.

The work on Evesham Road between Shubert and the Black Horse Pike is substantially complete. There are a few driveways that need restoration that work is expected to be completed next week.
