Tre Cavalli Pizzeria Opens in Williamstown with Homemade Recipes and Family Dining Space

Tre Cavalli Pizzeria opened at the end of summer in Williamstown, New Jersey, bringing family homemade recipes, delicious pizzas and Italian dinners to a surprisingly attractive dining space.

At its heart, Tre Cavalli is a classic South Jersey pizzeria, but I stopped in recently and caught up with two of the owners Anthony and Dominic, learning that they’re putting a lot of extra care into everything, from the food preparation to the casual yet slightly elevated dining experience.

Tre Cavalli is located on the Black Horse Pike, almost directly across from the large Williamstown Shopping Center. The small strip of stores is also home to Tasty China.

And doesn’t the name Tre Cavalli sound a little “elevated”? Anthony tells me it means “three horses,” representing the three partners in the business.

Walking inside, you’ll find the familiar feel of a neighborhood South Jersey pizza shop, but everything is just a little nicer. The comfortable dining area features red-and-white checkered tablecloths, seasonings on every table and an inviting atmosphere.

With an afternoon of fun planned with my wife, I went with a lighter lunch, ordering one traditional pizza slice and one Sicilian slice.

While waiting for my food, Anthony came out and gave me a rundown of what makes Tre Cavalli special.

For starters, literally everything is made from scratch in the kitchen, even making their own meatballs from scratch using a family recipe. The cheesesteak egg rolls are homemade, too, and all of their sauces are prepared in-house.

I grabbed a couple quick slices at Tre Cavalli. Two different sauces… the Sicilian has delicious chunks of tomato.

In fact, they use different sauces for different pizzas!

I had already noticed something different about my Sicilian slice, which featured chunks of tomato mixed into the sauce. It’s not something I commonly see at local pizza shops, and I really enjoyed how it gave the slice a heartier bite.

Of course, Tre Cavalli offers a full selection of pizzas, cheesesteaks and hoagies, but they’re also developing an impressive menu of Italian dinners and specialty sandwiches.

Dinner selections include ravioli, Tortellini Domenico and baked stuffed shells.

I actually had a conversation with Anthony about the ravioli because I’ve visited some Italian restaurants where it seems you get three ravioli on a plate for $22!

Meanwhile, Tre Cavalli has a nice-sized ravioli dinner special listed online for just $12.36, apparently including a salad. For another three dollars, you can add meatballs, sausage or other protein options.

That’s the kind of value I like seeing from a neighborhood restaurant!

The specialty sandwich selection is equally interesting, including vodka chicken parm, hot honey chicken cutlet, hot roast beef and even a classic pork roll and egg breakfast sandwich.

You’ll also find wraps, pasta dishes and plenty of other traditional pizzeria favorites.

One of the partners Anthony says their soups are “taking off”. It is the season… Tre Cavalli

Tre Cavalli: Affordable Lunch Specials

Just yesterday, Tre Cavalli announced a new selection of monthly lunch specials, available weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Some highlights include a 10-inch personal cheese pizza for $8, an Italian or turkey and cheese hoagie for $9, and a chef salad for $9.

But one sandwich really caught my attention: the Bourbon Steak Grilled Cheese!

For just $9, they’re offering a grilled cheese sandwich topped with marinated ribeye steak and their house-made bourbon sauce.

That’s what I mean about Tre Cavalli pushing the boundaries of a traditional pizza shop while keeping things reasonably priced.

What I particularly like is the balance they’ve created here.

Absolutely, it’s a neighborhood pizzeria where you can stop in for a quick slice or pick up a cheesesteak.

The separate dining area is also available for private events.

But the attractive dining room and expanded menu make it a place where you could comfortably bring the family for dinner.

Or maybe you’ve been out shopping or visiting local events with Mom for the afternoon, and you want to take her somewhere nice for a casual birthday lunch without spending a fortune.

Tre Cavalli fits that situation perfectly.

It’s a classic South Jersey pizza shop that’s elevated the experience just enough, without losing the neighborhood feel or affordable pricing.

And their hours couldn’t be easier to remember: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
