The Larchmont Commons shopping center on Route 38 in Mount Laurel recently opened a brand new Starbucks. Also coming soon to the center are new Chipotle Mexican Grill and a Tropical Smoothie Cafe.
As a location reference the Larchmont Commons shopping center also is home to ALDI and Planet Fitness. The Address for the new Starbucks is 3103 Route 38 Mount Laurel, NJ 08054.
The Starbucks opened in the last week or so and is part of an all new construction “pad-site” building at the front of the parking lot which was designed to support three new retail units in total.
The new Starbucks takes over the leftmost unit and features a drive-thru with a car lane that extends around the back of the building. The placement of the new building and drive-thru should give Starbucks plenty of space to support what is likely to be a long line of customer cars, without cars backing up onto roadways.
I stopped in this morning and had a delicious cup of Starbucks coffee and a breakfast sandwich as I did the classic Starbucks customer thing of “drinking my coffee with my laptop connected to free wi-fi, trying to look like I am working when I was really reading about Taylor Swift at the Chief’s game”. Ha!
Inside the decor of the Starbucks is very nice, leaning towards earth tones with an “orangey” tint in the chairs and counter façade. It’s a clean, attractive and functional Starbucks location.
Larchmont Commons : Chipotle and Tropical Smoothie Cafe
Mount Laurel’s Larchmont Plaza has two additional signings with Chipotle and Tropical Smoothie Cage listed as Coming Soon.
All three of the new signings should bring considerable “Foot-Traffic” to the center which should also bring awareness to other retailers in the center, leading to cross-over transactions.
News of the two additional signings comes from the leasing firm Equity Retail Brokers who have updated their Larchmont Commons marketing materials online to clearly say that both Tropical Smoothie Cafe and Chipotle are coming to the shopping center.
The are also highlighting that the center unit of the new pad site building is available to rent, situated between two high foot-traffic retailers.
So as mentioned Starbucks is in the all new construction building at the front center of the parking area and takes over the leftmost unit of the three that have been developed.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe will be on the far right unit and it seems that placement with the wrap-around corner glass also gives them an outdoor concrete patio area. Well I have not seen the plans for this and can’t confirm if they utilize that outdoor patio space… the potential is there. I will say that the recently opened Glassboro Tropical Smoothie Cafe has outdoor seating.
And in a really smart and well placed lease signing, the separate freestanding (and closed) Burger King restaurant building will become a Chipotle Mexican Grill… of course after significant construction remodeling.
While I don’t have any details on the timing I can tell you that as of this point it doesn’t appear that any remodeling for the two new eateries has started.
And the effort for the Chipotle I think is much more significant as I would expect them to remove the angled roof elements from the building that are distinctive to the old school Burger King buildings to make it appear or like a new Chipotle.
Additionally Chipotle has found a lot of success with their “Chipot-lane” drive-up order pickup window, and that will require additional exterior upgrades.
