Based locally out of Philadelphia, Fusion Gyms is coming to Woodbury Heights taking over the large gym facility which was previously known as Esporta, and originally developed as LA Fitness.
Construction crews are on site working on the building, which will include a full front facade upgrade.
I’ve known about these plans since earlier in the year and have been trying to confirm things with ownership… then on March 20th they teased the location on their Instagram profile, which if you step through the quick cuts of the video clearly shows it as Woodbury Heights.
Additionally the signature “Relentless” van has been parked onsite.
The location for the upcoming Fusion Gyms is on the Mantua Pike (Route 45), in the shopping center that is also home to Penn Medicine, Brynn Bradley Sandwiches, Starbucks and more.
Last fall this gym space was used as a seasonal Spirit Halloween location.
Fusion Gyms
Fusion Gyms appears to be based out of Philadelphia, and are owned by entrepreneur Tony Chowdhury.
Their website shows three locations open in Pennsylvania (Grant Ave, Fairless Hills, South Philly) and social media shows a location opening very soon in Warminster
The Woodbury Heights location for Fusion Gyms will be the first for them in New Jersey.
If you’re unfamiliar with Esporta and LA Fitness facilities, they are large gyms offering all of the higher-end amenities that you would want from a gym, and based on the social media teasers from Fusion Gyms, it appears they are looking to bring all of the facilities back into play… But of course adding the Fusion Gyms fitness equipment and methodologies to the location.
The Woodbury Heights gym building was built with 2 levels of space which features a large open main gym area, private class spaces… as well as a dedicated indoor basketball court!
Another awesome bonus to the facility is it features an indoor swimming pool… and again in the teaser clip, Fusion Gums showcases the pool, which makes me think it’s part of the plans for their first South Jersey location.
I have reached out to Tony via two e-mail addresses but unfortunately I have not had a response yet to lock in all of his plans for Woodbury Heights, and I do not know their expected opening date.
But with the gym plans fully confirmed and my receiving probably 30 messages about “what’s going on at Esporta” I am publishing what is confirmed.
So as mentioned crews are on site… most notably a tile contractor out front who is installing a distinctively bold front façade for the building, which matches the Fusion Gyms branding.
On their website, Fusion highlights their existing gyms which feature a significant amount of equipment in both free weights and machines.
For pricing, the website’s main page shows a single member price of $79 a month (no sign up fees and no contracts) but when I click through to South Philadelphia (the closest to South Jersey) I see that it’s offering a $99.00 per month membership fee.
For the opening of Woodbury Heights those prices could be different or feature grand opening specials… I’ll be featuring the Woodbury Heights Fusion Gym as they get closer to opening, and we will further clarify those details.
