Eddie V’s Prime Seafood Coming To Cherry Hill Mall. We Have A Design Preview

Eddie V’s Prime Seafood Coming To Cherry Hill Mall. We Have A Design Preview

Eddie V’s Prime Seafood will be taking over the former Grand Lux Cafe building on the outside of the Cherry Hill Mall.

While we missed the Preit (Mall Owner) Press Release in February that all the other media outlets posted from, today 42Freeway presents a design preview look at Eddie V’s upcoming Cherry Hill location.

Eddie V’s is part of the Darden Restaurant group who have a variety of brands.

Darden is opening Eddie V’s with a full understanding of the area marketplace, as in the Cherry Hill Mall complex they already operate The Capital Grille, Bahama Breeze and Seasons 52!

Plus in the very immediate Cherry Hill Mall area Darden operates LongHorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden… as well as Yard House in the Moorestown Mall!

So yeah… Darden is “all-in” on Cherry Hill.

Very specific on the new location for Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, they will be located on the outside perimeter of the Cherry Hill Mall facing Route 38. As mentioned the location was previously Grand Lux Cafe (which closed in 2020) and Eddie V’s will be doing a full remodel before opening.

The new location will feature a large front bar and lounge area “V’Lounge” featuring a prominently placed piano.

Behind that is the main dining room, and beyond that two private dining room areas.

Eddie V’s Prime Seafood

Considering the name of the new restaurant, it’s clear that seafood is a prime part of Eddie V’s offering.

But based on the King of Prussia menu, we see they also offer a variety of premium hand-cut steaks.

Which is all very interesting because Darden already has the Capital Grille restaurant in the Cherry Hill Mall complex.

While 42Freeway’s Mark has not eaten at Eddie V’s (yet) it seems that Capital Grill is a premium steakhouse which also offers seafood, and Eddie V’s is a premium seafood restaurant which also offers steak.

It seems though that Eddie V’s steak selection is actually somewhat extensive and there are a few references on the internet listing them as one of the top steakhouses in a given area.

And that probably best describes where the Eddie V’s experience lies. Close to… if not the same… price point as the Capital Grille.

The King of Prussia menu lists Norwegian Salmon at $36. Chilean Sea Bass at $48.

And an 18 oz Prime Bone-in New York Strip steak at $55.

And those prices above do NOT include the sides which range from $12-$21 each.

A reviewer of Eddie V’s which opened in Charlotte

It’s fancy inside. It’s clear they sank millions into the renovations…

Ted Williams: Axios Charlotte regarding their then new Eddie V’s location in 2018

So yeah for most of us I don’t think we will be picking up the kids after softball practice and shooting over for a bite to eat!

But it does seem to be the spot for celebrating special occasions, or corporate world business dinners.

For the money you will get a beautiful restaurant environment, amazing service… and of course top tier food.

The OpenTable reviews for the King of Prussia location of Eddie V’s Prime Seafood are off the chart! 2,900 reviews with a 4.8 (out of 5) review average.

Sample dining reviews of Eddie V’s in King of Prussia

  • You’ll send some serious coin, but you’ll get exactly what you would expect from a high end restaurant.
  • This is easily one of the best high end restaurants in the area.

It does seem that you get what you pay for!

It’s a smart breakout of restaurants Darden as they cover several categories of restaurants at different price points.

Somewhat like car companies such as Toyota offering the Toyota line as well as the higher-end Lexus brand.

For Darden they have the high-end experience of Capital Grille and the middle America offering of LongHorn.

In seafood they have the fancy person Eddie V’s restaurant and… well they used to own Red Lobster and decided in 2013 to sell them off.

We’ll post again when they are open. Would love to put up an experience post but seems this one if outside of the 42Freeway expense budget! But I would happily attend any Friends and Family preview dinner. Hint, hint!
