On August 25th the Gloucester Township Planning Board approved a new Lidl Grocery store which is planned for the Black Horse Pike in the Blackwood section of town.  Earlier that same day the Lidl Corporate site published a press release of “Plans to add 50 new stores by end of next year.  $500 million investment”, and Gloucester Township/Blackwood is listed.

The LIDL Supermarket company is proposing a 31,000 sq ft grocery on the Black Horse Pike in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township.  This is the third location proposed in Gloucester Township by LIDL.  The newest location is that empty large lot at the corner of Black Horse Pike and Lakeland/Davistown Rd… diagonal from the Shoppes at Gloucester Township shopping center, most known by Sam’s Bar and Grille (and the new Dunkin Donuts).

In 2002 the Wegmans Supermarket company made a major commitment to Washington Township, by purchasing 30 acres of land on Watson Drive for $4.6 million. The Metro Commercial site features the property… 30 acres directly behind the Lowes Home Improvement store… with an asking price of $5 million.

Ross Dress For Less is coming to Glassboro’s Collegetown Shopping Center on Delsea Drive (47), joining the previously reported LIDL supermarket and a relocated Big Lots.  All three stores will be taking over the space of the former K-mart building, which is being completely redeveloped.

In tonight’s Gloucester Township Planning Board, the Commerce Plaza II shopping center owners appeared asking to split the tax lots for the property, making the larger multi-unit building in the back (with parking lot) its own tax lot.  The reason for this is Giant Fitness is interested in developing a new gym in that larger building, and it is their preference to own the property!  But what about LIDL?!

Cherry Hill’s decades long massive project at the former Garden State Park property is closing in on another exciting milestone, as Trader Joe’s Supermarket, a very large HomeGoods  store, and a TJ Maxx store are nearing completion… and have started hiring for employees!  These three new buildings appear core development complete, and are located in the same area on Haddonfield Rd as the recently opened Shake Shack!
