Big Belly Deli and Bagel Express is open in Pennsville NJ, featuring delicious bagels and deli sandwiches… but the menu is much more extensive offering breakfast sandwiches and platters, hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, fried chicken and wings, panini, ice cream, coffee and more.
Your experience in looking at the menu for the first time is summed up nicely by a recent commentor on Facebook “Didn’t realize there was going to be such a large menu selection.”
Big Belly Deli takes over a building which was previously Hinkle’s News Shop, located directly next to the Bluebird Diner.
For the owners of Big Belly Deli, they’ve undergone a full remodel of the space… which makes the new local eatery feel like it’s a brand new build.
Inside the space “feels” bigger then it looks from the outside, with plenty of room for customers to place or wait for orders, seating with indoor high top tables, coffee bar area and refrigerated cases for cold drinks.
It’s an attractive and welcoming design to the store inside and out, with all new “everything”, bright lighting and eye-catching design elements and menu boards.
I stopped in over the weekend on my way to visit the popular The Shipyard and Engine House, and spoke briefly with the Big Belly Deli owner Rudy who is excited to be a part of the Pennsville community!
I didn’t realize until I got home and did additional research though that it seems there are at least two other related Big Belly Deli locations, one in Somerdale and another in Mount Holly.
At this time though with the Pennsville location just opening there is no online presence yet available for the Salem County location such as a website for online ordering, or Facebook/Instagram profiles.
But it’s clear Pennsville is excited for the new Big Belly Deli!

Over the next few days there were numerous very positive comments from people who where excited to have a bagel shop at the location, or had already tried Big Belly Deli and had positive things to say about their experience.

For my first visit to Big Belly Deli I already had dinner plans locked in for elsewhere in Pennsville, but I will be back soon and will definitely stop back for lunch. Well considering they are open from 5am to 10pm seven days a week.. I could stay for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
As a quick side note, I don’t know who runs the Discover Pennsville Facebook page but it’s absolutely one of the best town Facebook Pages in New Jersey, filled with interesting information on the town, details on exciting events, support for local businesses… just good, positive, informative info. Honestly, politician in any town should check out what the Discover Pennsville Facebook page is doing!
