PetCheck Urgent Care Deptford is Open! Photo Tour!

PetCheck Urgent Care has opened a new location in Deptford NJ on Clements Bridge Road, directly across from the mall. They bring a unique spin to veterinary care… open 7 days a week, 9am to 9pm… and you can just show up with your pet! It’s just like the “people” urgent care facilities you are familiar with.. but for your pets!

This beautiful all new office is their second location, with the first one being located in Washington Township.

We’ve been in regular contact with one of the PetCheck owners Michael Rebbecchi, who lives right in Gloucester Township! During our visit I caught up with Michael and also met brother Tom who is a (human) Emergency Room doctor, and I was told their other brother is a veterinarian in Pennsylvania!

This family KNOWS medical care, and more specifically.. pet care! And it shows in how they’ve set up their PetCheck locations.

Deptford Location

The new Deptford location is the former Payless Shoes building on Clements Bridge Road and very close to the corner of Almonesson Rd. In fact… pro-tip is you can access the PetCheck parking lot from Almonesson Road also, with that side entrance located next to the AMC Theater entrance (the theaters sit behind the PetCheck store).

From their windows you can look across to the Deptford Mall… with Macy’s being the closest store.

PetCheck Urgent Care Offerings

So yeah…. it’s an urgent care facility… for your pets. It’s in the name!

And when we say “pets”, we’re talking Dog and Cat care. No, you can’t ride over from Fox Run Road with your horse! 🙂

Mark from 42Freeway got the full tour on opening day, and this is an impressively setup facility. There is a LOT they can do right onsite.

The beautiful pet exam area shown below really makes for a soothing area for the pet… and the “parents”!

But, maybe an easy way to understand this is to say what they don’t do… which is basically they don’t do surgeries, as PetCheck is not a hospital. Which, is if you think about it… is the same definition for a human urgent care, right?

But what they can do, is a long list of urgent care and wellness type needs including possible fractures, minor lacerations, nail and pad injuries, digestive issues, wellness care, micro-chipping and more. Check the example list at the bottom of the post.

Their pet care offerings are so complete, they even have state-of-the-art lab testing equipment located ON SITE!

So everything about the PetCheck Urgent Care experience has been implemented with urgent care in mind.

There are no Emergency Fees! All offices visits are $59 no matter when or why you visit! I mean, if your business model is “urgent care” it makes sense that it’s a consistent office visit fee, right?!

And because our pets can get sick at any time of the day, PetCheck Urgent Care offers extended office hours

While not a 24 hour facility, they are open 7 days a week from 9am to 9pm! Those are very accommodating hours! Yes, even SUNDAYS!

During 42Freeway’s opening day visit I got to meet the entire staff… missed a lot of names… but wanted to call out that they had TWO veterinarians on site during my visit! Pictured below are Erin Platz and Andy Henry… offering amazing pet care in a very friendly way!

PetCheck Urgent Care also has specialized exam areas such as the pet cleaning table below. If your little pupper has a run-in with a bigger dog at the park, and is covered in dirt and what-not.. that table is a grated top sink so they can clean the pet and wound area, and then can provide the best and safest care!

Areas are allocated “behind-the-scenes” for veterinary staff (below)

They have really made great used of the form Payless space, offering a large waiting room and reception area, multiple exam rooms (6?), testing area, cleaning area, assistant area (above) and even a dedicated private Veterinarian office.

Below is one hallway with exam rooms on the left, and there is a second hallway on the opposite side configured similarly.

Pet artwork is seen throughout the office, and Jack Russells seem to be the star of the show… which hit home for Mark at 42Freeway because our family had a Jack Russell named “JR” during our “kids at home” years! Godspeed JR!
