A new Super Wawa rising in Williamstown on Route 322 (Glassboro Road) and Tuckahoe Roads in the final stages of preparations ahead of opening, with an unofficial expected opening of next month planned (April).
This all new construction “Super” Wawa with gas station is effectively a relocation of the classic legacy store on the opposite corner of the same intersection.

Ahead of the opening, Wawa is hiring additional Customer Associates for the larger store, as well as an entire team of Fuel Associates considering the existing legacy store does not offer gas.
This new Wawa was originally approved back in 2019 by Monroe Township and just over a year ago in January of 2024 the development team started clearing land for the property.

Plans called for a 5,051sf Wawa Convenience store with pumps. This is a somewhat common sized Wawa building as both the recently opened Penns Grove and Oaklyn locations were developed as the exact same size.
In Williamstown, the property is a three acre parcel of lands on the southwest corner of the intersection. This is an all new tax lot which was split off from a larger 9 acre lot. Planning Board documents state that the larger remaining 6 acres had significant wetlands, and likely cannot be developed.

I last wrote about the project in November of last year when the steel skeleton of the building was first developed and contractors were also installing the underground gas pumps.
This new Wawa will feature 6 fueling pumps in front, all in a single row (12 positions total).

Regarding a full opening date, Wawa has not officially put the date out there yet although there are indications that they will be opening in April.
And in a visit last week, Wawa employees at the existing legacy store stated management host told them the opening day for the new building is April 10th… although this is not an official date with still many aspects still in process.
