A Visionworks optical retail store is planned to move into Turnersville’s Cross Keys Commons, taking over the freestanding bank building situated near the front of the center. This is the “Walmart” Shopping Center.
The brick and green bank building has been sitting empty for a few years, and it’s a nice win to see it occupied again.
The building and shopping center are located at the start of Tuckahoe Road, just past the bend where Tuckahoe Rd breaks off of Route 42 (Black Horse Pike).
Directly next to the bank building (future Visionworks) is the House of Brews restaurant.

With that information in hand I was able to find references to the project at construction bidding sites, related to the new store buildout.
One of the sites showed a latest status of construction starting in January 2023, but in my visit today there was not any activity yet.
As a side note this is the same shopping center where Crumbl Cookies is under construction, and I noticed today that they are hiring for the store. An indication that it can’t be too far away before they open!
Property Owner Brixmor has been on a good run with the Cross Keys Shopping center, recently adding Kung Fu Tea, Norman’s Hallmark and Image Studios
Visionworks
Visionworks of America operates or manages over 700 optical retail stores in 40 U.S. states and DC.
They are based in San Antonio and have about 8,000 employees.
All of the stores sell frames, lenses, sunglasses and accessories.
Services also include contact lens dispensing, in-store labs, and doctors of optometry… either within the store or directly next to it.
Their website shows that they carry a variety of optical choices from economical frames to designer brands including Ray-Ban, Nike, Coach and more.
They offer a backup pair of glasses at 50% off, and you have 100 days to change your mind to a different pair if unhappy. Be sure to check the website for full details on those offers
