The beloved Village Pub Swedesboro Restaurant and Bar (Logan Twp) has been closed for almost a year, and they are getting close to reopening… with job fairs scheduled!
The job fairs for the Swedesboro reopening are being held at the Sewell location and start THIS week!!
Village Pub Swedesboro Job Fairs – Held at Sewell Location
- Wed April 30th : 10:30am – 12:30pm (Facebook Event)
- Wed May 7th : 6:30pm – 8:30pm (Facebook Event)

On June 24th last year a small fire occurred at the Village Pub Swedesboro restaurant and bar, which has been closed all this time as the team worked on repairs and additional improvements.
Fans of the popular local pub have been eagerly awaiting the reopening, but management has been quiet on progress towards the reopening.
Coincidentally, I stopped down just last week to check on progress hoping to catch someone on site, and while I was not able visit inside the restaurant, I heard from unofficial sources within the company they are targeting a late Spring / June reopening.

I have contacts with ownership and management, and I reached out a few days ago… They were happy to hear from me and want to chat about all of their plans… But then yesterday the announcement of the job fairs popped up on the Village Pub Facebook page!
Realizing the community is eager to see the restaurant reopen and wanting to help people find jobs… I decided to share the news on the hiring and coming soon reopening, and I hope to have more details on the full reopening and any upgrades over the next week.

Village Pub – Ciconte Restaurant Group
There are two Village Pub locations; Swedesboro and Sewell (Washington Twp).
The Village Pub is part of the Ciconte Restaurant Group in South Jersey which also includes the two Cinder Bar locations (Clarksboro, Williamstown), the Landmark Americana Tap and Grill (Glassboro), as well as 5 Ciconte’s Pizzeria restaurants (West Deptford, Marlton, Swedesboro, Glassboro, Gibbstown)

It’s an amazing success story for Ciconte’s founder Bob who started out as a pizza man and cook at a Bellmawr pizza shop, and has turned that experience into a restaurant powerhouse.
For the two Cinder Bar and Landmark Americana Glassboro locations, Bob partnered with Tony Stavola who originally found (and then sold) the Stavola Foods distribution company.
The lineup of the restaurants is a very smart move for the team, as it places them in multiple categories of dining from the more casual Ciconte’s Pizzeria, to the middle-America restaurants of Village Pub and Landmark Americana locations, to a slightly more elevated tavern experience of the Cinder Bar locations.

The team continues to look for opportunities to grow the brand further with new locations. Last year I wrote about very early plans to develop a new restaurant at Riverwinds in West Deptford. I hear things, but I respect that Bob and Tony because really know how to take their time in making sure they make the right decisions at the right time! Hopefully more details to come soon.
