Urban Air Adventure Park Sicklerville interior is currently being built out at the Shoppes at Cross Keys in Gloucester Township, with a targeted opening date of mid-February… President’s Day Weekend!
Mark from 42Freeway stopped in on Friday and met up with the location’s owner, as well as the construction team.
Urban Air Adventure is national chain of huge 30,000 square foot kid’s focused fun that offers a full line-up of “get up off your chair” activities.
The Sicklerville location is all new construction, located next to the Gloucester Township Hobby Lobby.
We first reported on this new location back in January 2020 when the ground was just being cleared for the new building… but the press-release announcement for the Sicklerville location was put out back in mid-2019.
The building exterior was completed during the challenging Covid days, but the interior buildout was held off until a few months ago.

Urban Air Adventure Park
Sure the company’s roots started out as a trampoline park years ago (which is still a big part of the fun), but they’ve greatly expanded the offering to include climbing walls, multi-level climbing ropes, tube playgrounds, dodgeball, obstacle courses (just like on TV!) and more!
While I am not an expert on kid’s trampoline/adventure parks… this one seems to be on the larger end of the scale in terms of square footage.
The Sicklerville (Gloucester Township) location will also feature Urban Air Adventure Hub, featuring exclusive Urban Air attractions, such as
- Ropes Course: intense multi-level ropes course
- Sky Rider Coaster: One-of-a-kind Urban Air Sky Rider Indoor Coaster which puts a child up in the air literally flying overhead!
- Drop-Zone is an enormous inflatable landing pad set below a series of trampolines!
- Runway Tumble Track is perfect for gymnasts or cheerleaders or little ninjas to practice their moves in a safer environment
- The Slam Dunk zone let’s you show off your inner Jordan as you slam-a-jamma from the trampolines!
- The Urban Warrior course let’s your kids have their shot with an obstacle course, just like the ones on TV!
The facility will also have a full refreshment and snack bar.. as well as SEVEN private party rooms!
42Freeway Friday Visit : Urban Air Adventure Park Sicklerville
Burning some end-of-year vacation days with the day job, Mark from 42Freeway stopped in this past Friday to check on the Urban Air Adventure interior construction progress… and fortunately caught up with location owner Rocco, and his construction company leads… and 42Freeway was invited in to check out the place!
Rocco tells us that Urban Air Adventure is a franchise based business and the largest adventure park operator in the world with over 250 locations open or under development!
Closer to home there are Urban Air locations in Springfield PA, Willow Grove PA, East Norriton PA, and more… with half a dozen locations listed as opening soon around the country, including Lancaster PA.
Back to Rocco… Rocco is already operating a location in Toms River New Jersey, which opened in the summer of 2019.
Rocco shared with us that previously he worked in the hustle and bustle of New York City for many years… long hours plus commute meant he had limited time for his family.
One weekend though he went with his kids to a birthday party at an Urban Air Adventure park, and while still in the facility turned to his family and said “I want to be in this business. I want to own an Urban Air Adventure Park”
And if I remember the story correctly, back home later that SAME DAY he filled out the franchise form online and within weeks was approved to start his new life as an Urban Air Adventure operator/owner, targeting his first location in Toms River!
While it’s a lot of work to build out and manage these locations, today he clearly has a much better balance in his life!
They say 2021 is the year of the “Great Resignation”… well it seems Rocco jumped on board before it was in vogue!
During my visit to the location I also met the heads of the construction firm building out the interior, and installing all of the attractions in Sicklerville (and they also did the Toms River project)
While I missed getting their company name, the brother team were awesome to talk to, and originate from Camden NJ!
Right now all of the interior walls and drywall for the party rooms, snack bar and bathrooms are all up.
Construction of the interior attractions has started.
If you are a “Glass half full” person like me… you can see that core building construction is mostly down to paint and kitchen installs, and considering they are already installing the attractions… February seems very reasonable.
42Freeway will be back when it gets close to opening for a full preview! We are looking forward to this exciting addition to the Shoppes at Cross Keys, and the 42Freeway area!
