Sollena’s Pizza on Delsea Drive in Washington Township is developing a completely new restaurant building on the property. The development will actually be a small and attractive shopping center with space for additional tenants.
Sollena’s and the new development are owned by a Washington Township Family, the Castiglione’s and they are actively looking for tenants to fill out the remain units of the new shopping center.
You can reach out to them at 609-828-1190 if you are interested in joining the brand new shopping center! Ask for Loredana.
This portion of Delsea Drive, while well traveled… will benefit from new and attractive projects like this one, to further spur additional developments which will improve the overall look and consumer experience in this area.

Sollena’s Shopping Center
Sollena’s Pizza has been serving delicious pizza and sandwiches in Washington Township for over 30 years, from their wedge-shaped Delsea Drive building located near the Salina Road intersection.
Their location makes them very convenient to Deptford, Mantua, Glassboro and more!
The new shopping center will be developed on the same Sollena’s property.
The full property is a large 1.3 acres of which the current restaurant building uses only the front corner portion… sitting up very close to Delsea Drive. Probably only about 1/4 of the property is utilized today.
The existing building placement provides a great opportunity for the family to develop the new center behind the existing pizzeria building, while keeping the original building open during much of the construction.
As construction finishes up on the new building, the old Sollena’s wedged-roof building will be demolished, and that space will become part of the parking lot for the new shopping center.
As mentioned, the Castiglione family lives in town and will be putting their restaurant into the building… so it was important to them that they developed an attractive building which would help raise the overall quality of Delsea Drive businesses and the community.
Upgrades which they chose to add to the development include an all brick façade, attractive exterior accent lighting, and even changing up the front wall elevation to make it more eye pleasing.
Landscaping will also be included… all meeting to the approval of the town Planning Board.
The building design was well thought out.. it’s smart, but simple at the same time!
The total building space is 7,200 square feet.
With six potential store segments, that makes each unit an equal 1,200 sq ft.
But tenants have flexibility to lease one or more units, combining them into larger spaces.
The new Sollena’s Restaurant for example will be in two of the segments, for a total of 2,400 sq ft.
And if you are following along at home with your calculators, that means 4 of the 6 units are still available to rent… and can be combined up to 4,800 sq ft.
When I asked if the new building will change up the restaurant offerings… well that is still being decided on. But you can be sure you’ll still be able to get their delicious pizza, wings, sandwiches and more!
While a completion date is tough to pin down in today’s supply-chain impacted environment, the family is very confident that the will “break ground” on the new building this year.

Sollena’s Pizza : “Township” Family Success Story
42Freeway knew about the plans for the new building and pizzeria since it went to the Planning Board last year, but it was just today that we had a chance to speak to the owners… Washington Township residents Giuseppe and Loredana Castiglione.
I had a really nice conversation with the couple, with Loredana answering most of my questions and talking about how supportive the community and town leaders have been to their family and business over the years.
In fact, recently the Castigliones faced a very scary situation when the Sollena’s Pizzeria suffered a damaging fire which put them out of business for a few weeks.
The family publicly thanked the Washington Township Police and Fire Departments for extinguishing the fire quickly, so that they had minimal business downtime.
Today Sollena’s Pizza is open again, ready to take your order for delicious pizza, wings, sandwiches and more!
And now the family can also get back to finalizing details of their building construction project.
