Rise N Grind Coffee a Huge Berlin Mart Success. Drive-Thru Coming To Washington Twp

Rise N Grind Coffee Co opened at the Berlin Farmers Market and is already a huge hit . The Gloucester County based partners have big plans for growth… the next step being an innovative drive-thru coffee location on Delsea Drive in Washington Township.

Rise N Grind coffee is the brainchild of Washington Township based partners Chris and Taylor, who created the idea for the coffee shop and brand when they couldn’t find high quality coffee and drinks that they really enjoyed.

Instead of simply complaining about it on social media, they used their extensive experience in hospitality, tech, retail and graphic design to solve their coffee problem… and created Rise N Grind Coffee Co. A high-quality freshly brewed coffee shop with equally excellent branding.

First step for the partners was to open their first Rise N Grind Coffee Co location at the Berlin Farmers Market.

They had been regular customers at the Berlin Market for years, and at one time had sold merchandise at the flea market. Time spent outside at the market really had them thinking “The mart needs a coffee place… a really good coffee place”

Their observation and business idea was clearly correct! Opened earlier this year, the busy weekends at the Mart and Rise N Grind’s delicious coffee typically means a long line of loyal customers who will happily wait to order a delicious coffee, Italian soda, bagel, sandwich, candied bacon and more.

I stopped in on a Friday and still found it challenging to break the pair away from serving the steady stream of customers just so I could ask a few questions! I can only imagine what Saturdays and Sundays are like!

For their first location, this Berlin located Rise N Grind Coffee Co shop was developed as a beautiful mobile trailer, but it has a permanent space just outside the Berlin Mart main building as you head out into the flea market section.

Coffee beverages are the main focus, from traditional cups of coffee to frozen espresso drinks. Their house blend coffee is special recipe that they created themselves, which is blended and roasted at Deptford’s Talk N Coffee shop!

Chris and Taylor are so serious about their coffee “Rising you from the dead of night”.. they do not offer a decaffeinated!

Rise N Grind also specialize in a variety of delicious beverages perfect such as Hot Cocoa w/ Toasted Marshmallow, Espresso Mixers, Arctic Grinds, Energy Bombs and more.

Food is also part of the menu with toasted bagels, sandwiches, cannoli and their signature candied bacon!

Both Chris and Taylor very creative people so it seems like they have their base menu of amazing products but are regularly coming up with new ideas… so it’s best to follow them on Facebook to keep up with what’s new or just stop of course!

For my Friday visit I went with a Paradise Punch Italian soda which featured coconut, dragon fruit and pineapple… it gave me that perfect Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville vibe.

I also tried a pumpkin cannoli which is one of the seasonal varieties. Absolutely delicious, it offered the perfect amount of pumpkin flavor.

Clearly the coffees, drinks and sandwiches have connected with the locals and Berlin Mart customers, but another big success for the brand is their branding itself.

With edgy and hip skeleton themed graphics and attractive logo designs, they are finding their merchandise is also becoming top sellers, such as the Grind Nation hoodie

Rise N Grind – Washington Township Coming Soon

The next big evolution for the Rise and Grind Coffee Co is an innovative dual sided drive-thru coffee shop.

The early designs for the shop shows a configuration where cars can enter from either of the two directions, pull up to the order window and then move ahead to pick up their coffee, drink, bagel or more.

Each of the two drive-thru sides have an overhang to protect drivers from rain as they pay and get their food… but in the early prototype the one side features a larger 2nd floor mezzanine which makes for a quiet outdoor space to enjoy Rise N Grind Coffee!

Being Washington Township residents the focused on their own town for their first new drive-thru location and have already acquired a property on Delsea Drive at Holly Ave, which is the area where the towns of Washington Township, Glassboro and Pittman come together.

The property itself seems perfectly suited for their plans. While it’s not overly large at 3/4 of an acre, the Rise N Grind property extends between Delsea Drive to Holly Ave…. Which possibly could give access to both roadways.

This is very early in the planning though and they still have design work to complete before presenting to the town.

Taylor explains that with their first location being open just since March and they’re heading into a very busy time for the Berlin Market with the upcoming holiday shopping season, they are likely to remain focused on the current Rise N Grind location… And after the holiday season focus more on finalizing the plans for the Washington Township location.
