While I expect more to developed in South Jersey, the last two approved locations for Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers are under development in Washington Township and Glassboro, and this is a drone photo update.
My July update has additional information on Raising Cane’s and these two projects, including the Washington Two site plan.
The Glassboro location coming to Delsea Drive at Donald Barger Blvd, and in my visit last week I see it is basically a freestanding weatherproofed building.
The Washington Township location is located on the Black Horse Pike at Ganttown Road, and that was fully cleared and the foundation was developed (10/25).
Clearly the Glassboro location has moved ahead of Washington Township in development… Which is a flip-flop from previous Raising Cane’s statements which said they had thought Washington Township would open first.
Back in June I reported that Washington Township was expected to open First Quarter 2025, and Glassboro was looking at April 2025… but again, it appears Glassboro has moved ahead in that timeline.
I did reach out to my contacts at Raising Cane’s management for an update on the expected opening dates but they did not reply to my e-mail.
I’ve covered the Raising Cane’s restaurants many times so this isn’t a long article, more so I had the drone up last week and I thought I’d share some images here with folks to show how they were progressing with construction.
I’ve reported on the potential for other locations in South Jersey for Raising Cane’s including Lawnside and Millville, but right now there are no other approvals for South Jersey as it appears Raising Cane’s has shifted their focus to opening the next wave locations in northern New Jersey.
If you’re unfamiliar with raising canes they are a fresh chicken tender focused restaurant that is very popular in other parts of the country and they are making a big push through New Jersey initially opening locations in South Jersey; Burlington, Marlton, Cherry Hill, Deptford.
Once these two locations open it will be 6 strategically placed locations throughout the western part of South Jersey.
