The delicious frozen treat shop Playa Bowls is expanding in South Jersey, coming to Mullica Hill at a popular intersection near the Amish Market and Harrison House diner.
This upcoming location is owned by Gloucester County couple Krissy and Greg who also own the Washington Township location which opened in January 2024.
If you’re unfamiliar with Playa Bowls, their signature items are healthy and delicious frozen treat bowls typically built around a frozen but smooth base such as acai berries, banana or coconut.
That base is then topped with a variety of other delicious and healthy flavors including bananas, strawberries, apples, blueberries, peanut butter, granola and even Nutella.
It creates a refreshingly delicious and healthy treat that people eat throughout the year!

Pat’s Pizza Mullica Hill Closes
Very specifically for the location… Playa Bowls is taking over the Mullica Hill Pat’s Pizza building which sits right on Main Street near the Rt 322 intersection, in front of the Amish Market (and close to the Harrison House diner)
It’s a freestanding building with a significant parking lot which should make the shopping experience easy for the Playa Bowls customer.
I get that some people may be surprised to see that this somewhat larger building and parking lot will be used for Playa Bowls but if you’ve stopped over at the Washington Township location you’d see that they are regularly very busy with many customers in the store at one time.
I stopped at the Washington Township location at dinner time today and they had five employees working and about 8 order slips laid out on the counter that they needed to get to!
For the Mullica Hill location the lease transaction completed just today with Playa Bowls taking over the keys to the unit.
I don’t know exactly when this Mullica Hill Pat’s Pizza closed but I could see from social media they were still open about a week ago when commenters were debating the rumors of their impending closure.
Well be assured that Pat’s Pizza in Mullica Hill is closed
Playa Bowls
As mentioned the signature item at Playa Bowls is the healthy frozen bowl treats based on the Acai berry.
Acai berries are know for their vast range of energy-boosting, cell-healing, immune-stimulating properties.
Playa Bowls also offer smoothies, juices, cold brews and even cold pressed juices! Everything is made from the freshest fruits and other ingredients.
Another cool aspect about the Playa Bowls brand is the really cool design of their stores, which simply by walking through the front door transports you to a tropical Hawaiian village! Even in the coldest January you could step into Playa Bowls and get that vacation that you need to make it through to the spring!
Krissy and Greg told me the inspiration for owning a Playa Bowls started after a vacation to Puerto Rico, where they tried a variety of acai bowls from local vendors.
That experience and the delicious flavors of the acai bowls stuck with them when they returned home, which led them to signing on to open up a Playa Bowls in Gloucester County.
