A three-story storage facility with two additional single story buildings was approved over the summer for Cross Keys Rd in Pine Hill, at the Turnersville Road/Bittle Ave Intersection. Last month the proposal was reviewed by Camden County.
The project will be developed directly next to an existing Dollar General store which opened just a few years ago.

The main three-story building will have a total area of 122,595 square feet and will be positioned directly along Cross Keys Road next to Dollar General. This will be an indoor climate-controlled facility.
Two additional one-story buildings will be developed behind the Dollar General. Each of those buildings will support 11,000 square feet of storage. Those configurations will be a standard “pull up to the garage door” implementation.
All three buildings combined will total approximately 145,000 square feet of rentable storage space. At this time it is not known who the brand of the storage facility will be.
The entrance to the new storage facility buildings will be alongf Berlin Cross Keys Road, utilizing the existing entrance that was developed for Dollar General.
When the Dollar General parking area was constructed, they smartly designed the connection point to Cross Keys Road as a right-turn bend into the Dollar General parking lot. They were clearly thinking ahead towards future development opportunities for the remainder of the lot, as this makes it easier for developers to extend this same entrance into the new storage facility development.

Simply, cars turning in off of Cross Keys Road will then either go right towards the Dollar General (as they currently do), or they will stay straight and head into the storage facility property.
From that entrance, the larger three-story building will be to the left, and then the roadway will continue back to the rear of the property where the two smaller buildings are located (behind Dollar General).
To support water management for the development, a large “L”-shaped water basin will be positioned in in the space between the building and Cross Keys Road and then wrap around to the back corner closer to Bittle Ave.

As mentioned the property for the storage facilities is where Turnersville Road and Bittle Avenue connect into Berlin-Cross Keys Rd.
Bittle Ave is a residential street with homes on each side of the roadway… all of the homes are remaining where they are. One of the residential homes will have the larger storage facility building beyond their backyard.
At this point there is no confirmation as to when construction will starts.
