Peter’s Diner in Williamstown will serve up their last meal today (Sunday 2/27) as they are closing permanently at the end of business today.
This is ahead of the finalization of the diner’s sale to another South Jersey Diner family, which we expect to happen soon.
This is a much shorter post than our usual ones… with the diner closing in just hours I wanted to get something up fast!
While 42Freeway has not been able to connect yet with management to 100% confirm all aspects of the story, a simple phone conversation with the front staff at Peter’s Diner confirmed today is the last day.
Peter’s Diner is located on the Black Horse Pike in Williamstown NJ, at the intersection of Malaga Road.
This is in the area of Walmart which sits at the opposite corner of the diner.
We tried pinpointing exactly when Peter’s Diner opened, and the best we could find was this project page at United Construction which indicates a 2004 date.
The diner is beautifully constructed with a very bright and eye-catching exterior.
In our last visit, everything seemed to be in good shape, and it is expected the new owners will move quickly to freshen up the building, update menus and change the signage ahead of a quick reopening.
New Owners, New Life
Industry insiders are telling us that the new owners are the Pandora Diner family, who operate diners in Cinnaminson and Springfield Township (both in Burlington County).
According to other recent news reports, the same family also has ownership in the Town & Country Diner in Bordentown.
We’ve reached out to the owner of Pandora for additional details, but have not heard back as of yet.
We’ll have more on the diner reopening as progress unfolds!
