The new Panda Express restaurant recently opened on the Black Horse Pike in Washington Township, offering delicious Asian inspired dishes in fast-casual dining setting. Currently the indoor seating is closed, but you can go inside to order, or use the Drive-Thru! Located in the same building is the recently opened Jersey Mike’s!
Panda Express is located in the new building directly across from House of Brews. The building is also home to the recently opened Jersey Mike’s sandwich shop, and there is room for a third business to sign on.
Panda Express is a fast-casual “American Chinese” restaurant offering a variety of well known and unique to them dishes. If you’ve been to Pei Wei, it’s a similar menu model. Panda Express continues to grow the chain, and has over 2,000 locations!
Their Orange Chicken is the number one selling dish at Panda Express, similar to a General Tso’s. On my Sunday afternoon visit I tried the Firecracker chicken in a bowl… delicous!
In an ordering style that is becoming more and more common in newer casual eateries, there is a step-by-step systematic approach to ordering;
- Style; Bowl, Plate, Bigger Plate, Kids..
- Sides; Rice, Vegetables, Chow Mein
- Entrees; Variety of Beef, Chicken, and Vegetable dishes
- Extras; Such as egg rolls and spring rolls.
Other eateries such as Mission BBQ and Chipotle have variations of this food serving model…. which while Chipotle really has it refined down to a pattern, I think Boston Market was first.
The restaurant itself is brand new, modern and bright and should attract a lot of new patrons.

We covered Jersey Mike’s extensively ahead of their December opening… but just a reminder that they are directly next to Panda Express, and offer delicious hoagies, cheesesteaks and more!
Of course Jersey Mike’s is a national franchise, but the Washington Township has a real local twist, with Washington Township grad Jon Smith as General Manager and part owner!
