Norman's Hallmark Coming To Deptford. Moving into Former Ruth's Location

Norman’s Hallmark is coming to Deptford NJ, taking over the store location which most recently was Ruth’s Hallmark. Norman’s is a large regional chain of Hallmark Greeting Cards and Gift stores, with dozens of store locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. They are hiring now for Deptford, and hoping for a late September opening.

This Norman’s Hallmark will be a full Gold Crown “Rewards” Store.

As mentioned, Norman’s Hallmark will be moving into the recently closed Ruth’s Hallmark location close to Deptford’s Hobby Lobby and Party City stores.

Ruth’s Hallmark surprised everyone on February 20th with news they were closing all of their remaining stores the next day. They are not the only recent Hallmark franchise with multiple store closing, and it seems competition from the internet and larger discount retailers are typically blamed, but…

… Norman’s seems to be bucking the trend in the Greeting Card and Gift retail industry in a very good way, as news searches on them turn up multiple stories over the last two years of new stores and store expansions! We see new stores planned for Reading PA, an expansion in Bridgewater NJ, a new location opened in Hamilton NJ,

While Norman’s has it’s largest presence in Pennsylvania (including the Corporate office and Distribution center in Newtown PA), a 2011 NJ.com article informs us they started out in Trenton NJ… way back in 1939!

Norman’s Hallmark Deptford is Now Hiring

A loyal reader let us know about the store when she recently was in the shopping center… and in a quick search I see back on August 8th,the manager of the upcoming Deptford location posted the news in a Deptford town group that the store was coming… and they are hiring!

Somehow I missed that post. Been enjoying the summer too much!
