It seems Audubon’s long closed Golden Corral building on the Black Horse Pike could be seeing a new life, as property owner Wolfson Group has Tang Cuisine listed on marketing documents as “Coming Soon”
Honestly I don’t have a ton of depth to this story, but with it listed on official shopping center documents it seemed worthy to share with readers.
Well, of course I’ll explain a little more below!
In other Audubon Black Horse Pike news, Rexy’s across the street from this shopping center recently announced plans to add an outdoor enclosed patio. I do not have an update on those plans.
Golden Corral Building – Audubon
The large 10,000+ square foot building was opened around 2008 as a Golden Corral buffet restaurant.
It is part of the Audubon Crossings Shopping center (Walmart) but it’s location on the Black Horse Pike (at Merchant St) next to the Pep Boys building makes it seem like the old Golden Corral was separate from the larger center.
The Golden Corral business operated a few years at the location. If I remember correctly it actually closed unexpectedly and reopened more than once.
Golden Corral fully closed in early 2015, date-stamped by a Courier Post article at the time listing them as “recently closed”
That’s 7 and a half years the building has sat unoccupied!
And honestly, in my visit to the property this week the exterior looked like it was in very good shape actually!
In New Jersey it doesn’t seem that there are any Golden Corral restaurants remaining open.
A Vineland location closed around 2018. A Delran location also closed in the last few years.
The official Golden Corral website still lists Egg Harbor Twp and Freehold as locations, but they are listed as “Operations Temporarily Suspended”. WPG Talk Radio has more information on the Egg Harbor location.
Tang Cuisine – Audubon Crossing
I was researching another business coming to the Audubon Crossings Shopping center (which I’ll post on tomorrow) and in looking at the site leasing documents online, I see Tang Cuisine clearly marked as Coming Soon.
That site plan document is dated September 2022. Last month.
Of course I immediately start searching for more details.
I also found in a commercial real estate listing site (Loopnet) where it also was updated to list “Tang Cuisine – Coming Soon”
The property is owned by Wolfson Group… and yesterday I called their leasing representative leaving a voice message. I followed that up with an email.
No response as of this morning.
So of course I started “googling” like crazy on Tang Cuisine. Typically I can find a New Jersey Business Entity document, or some online connecting piece of information.
While I did find some references to Tang Cuisine in New Jersey, I couldn’t 100% connect it to Audubon.
Still researching that angle and will update as I get more information.
