Modwash Car Wash continues their growth into South Jersey, opening their latest location on the Black Horse Pike in Turnersville New Jersey just a few weeks ago,
This new location is at 5601 Rt 42 (Black Horse Pike) on the Southbound side, next to Chick-Fil-A.
The property was previously a Burger King but the restaurant had been closed for several years.
42Freeway wrote about the plans two years ago when we knew at the time it was going to be a car wash, but wasn’t clear on the ModWash brand. We also provided an update just a few months ago in an article about another location.
Actually that May 22 article at 42Freeway gives a fairly concise rundown of locations in the core area of 42Freeway.
For the new Turbersville location you can access from the front entrance off of Rt 42, or there is a rear entrance off of Greentree road through a small shopping center. Well that may be better used as an exit to get back into the residential areas of Washington Township.
ModWash and Hutton – Cleaning Up the Competition
ModWash is a brand new company started by Chattanooga Tennessee construction firm Hutton.
We posted on Hutton previously and gave information on their growth in the car wash industry, but an article at carwash.com adds additional interesting details.
Hutton’s core business is to build commercial buildings for other companies. With significant experience in the development process, CEO Karen Hutton decided to start their own brand.
Hutton will build and own all of the car wash sites, which will then be leased to the ModWash entity.
Each property costs between $3.5 million to $14 million.
The car wash features all of the latest technology.
It is an automated system buy plenty of employees were there today in Turnersville to help guide the process with the payment system, and entering the car wash tunnel “Windows up, car in neutral!”
The car wash also offers a large number of vacuums, and even car mat holders so that you can really get into the carpet and clean it.
You can purchase individual car washes($10 and up) but like many companies in this space, they are also offering monthly plans which allow unlimited car washes for the month. Check with ModWash for details.
ModWash Growing Fast And Quick In South Jersey!
I’ve covered ModWash a lot at the site as they are looking to grow rapidly in our area.
During my visit today, one of the employees I chatted with said “We are going to be the Wawa of car washes… a location every 5 miles!”. Which is a bit of an exaggeration, but very quickly they do have a lot planned for the area!
Already opened in South Jersey are locations in Cherry Hill, Sicklerville, Millville, Vineland
Currently under construction are locations on Blackwood-Clementon Rd and second ModWash for Berlin Cross Keys Road over where New Brooklyn Erial Rd Intersect.
Previously they were showing upcoming locations for Deptford and Magnolia, but they are now not presented on their location page. The Magnolia location was recently approved for the former Pizza Hut property on the White Horse Pike (South Jersey Observer)
