Grocery Outlet Bargain Market continues their expansion in South Jersey with the opening of their Gibbstown location this Thursday September 12th.
Grocery Outlet is a discount price grocery store which balances a full one-stop shopping experience with discount prices via smart opportunistic buying. Their team is constantly working with product manufacturers and distribution companies to find the best deals…and the saving are then passed on to customers.
I stopped in today at the new location and caught up with one of the locations owner-operators Saalia, who gave me a tour of the beautiful new grocery store. Gibbstown Grocery Outlet looks ready to go!.
Gloucester County’s first Grocery Outlet Bargain Market is located in the Gibbstown Plaza, which is at the Harmony Road Exit of Route 295 (Exit 17).
As a point of reference many will remember this location as being home to a ShopRite supermarket which relocated to another location.
While it’s been about 18-months since the space became empty, Grocery Outlet signed on very quickly… but the building need to be completely rebuilt and divided into 3 units… which took about a year.
Dollar Tree has already opened in one (leftmost) segment, and Grocery Outlet is taking the larger unit at the right end of the shopping center (closest to Taco Bell and the shopping center entrance).
The Gibbstown Plaza owners did a beautiful job rebuilding the space into what would appear to be all new construction.
And while Grocery Outlet is a discount pricing model store, there’s nothing discounted about the interior or the product mix. During my visit today I got to see a beautifully design store with a wide variety of product, a large offering a freezer refrigerator units… as well as fresh meats, dairy and an amazing assortment of fruits and vegetables.
Except for some minor cleanup spots, the store looks ready to go… including their signature “Power Wall” of best deals at the front of the store, which is stacked with products at awesome prices.
For the new Gibbstown Grocery Outlet, the doors open this Thursday at 8:00 AM.
A formal ribbon cutting takes place at 10:00 AM, as well as a donation ceremony where the store’s independent operators will donate $1000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Gloucester County, Paulsboro Center.
A variety of Grand Opening day promotions will be in place including “Bliss Buck” Gift Cards for the first 100 customers… cards are randomly valued from $5 to $500!
Free reusable bags will be available to all customers, while supplies last.
Additionally an ongoing sweepstakes is taking place where customers can enter for a chance to win $1000 in free groceries.. That contest will run from September 2nd through October 10th.
Also if you sign up for their email updates they will send you a coupon good for $5 off a $15 purchase with your new email sign-up. It’s a good thing to be a part of because when the biggest deals show up at the store, they are email customers to let them know!
While Grocery Outlet is a growing chain of locations based out of California, it is important for them to connect with the local community and to that end, each location has locally based independent owners and operators.
For the Gibbstown Grocery Outlet, South Jersey husband and wife team Anthony and Saalia are excited to bring the the Grocery Outlet experience to Western Gloucester County’s “Route 295 Corridor”!
The couple make a perfect match for Grocery Outlet as Anthony has a career in the retail sector, and Saalia comes from an accounting/finance background.
I say “perfect match” because if you’re unfamiliar with the Grocery Outlet operator model, the owner/operators are in control of the product mix within the store as well as establishing the pricing model. Anthony and Saalia have “all the bases covered”!
The team has been actively promoting the store’s opening, particularly in Facebook were over 1,600 people have responded to the Grand Opening event.
The couple have also been regularly posting photo and video updates to their Facebook page to inform the community as well as get everyone excited for their new grocery store.
As mentioned, Grocery Outlet is on a growth spurt through South Jersey with locations opened in Sicklerville Gloucester Township, Delran, Egg Harbor City and Rio Grande.
