Freddy’s Steakburgers Cinnaminson Expects September Opening

Freddy’s Steakburgers Cinnaminson Expects September Opening

South Jersey’s second Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers restaurant is coming to Cinnaminson on Route 130, and expecting a September opening.

The location for the upcoming Cinnaminson Freddy’s is directly in front of the Extra Space Storage building (previously Acme), which is connected to the K1 Speed Indoor Cart Racing track.

If you’re unfamiliar with Freddy’s Steakburgers, they just started their move into South Jersey this year with one other location opened earlier this year in Burlington Township, which I visited at the March opening and shared the experience with readers.

Freddy’s features a “cook to order” smash-style burger in a retro themed restaurant, where the Freddy’s way of preparing the burger is a thinly pressed patty which gives it slightly crispy edges… and is finished with their famous seasoning (which is perfect for steakburgers and fries).

Freddy’s food menu offers a lot of variety including amazing hot dogs, chicken sandwiches and their french fries are 100% potato… no coating on a Freddy’s Fry, which is how nature intended it!

Another big aspect of the Freddy’s menu is their delicious frozen custard, which if you look at the official restaurant name the “Frozen Custard” aspect gets top billing… although today I think “Freddy’s Steakburgers” is the more commonly used name.

Their signature custard dessert dish is Turtle Custard, which is fresh and creamy vanilla custard, hot fudge, hot caramel and toasted pecans.  The ice cream is made fresh and it’s a little bit thicker then a soft serve, and definitely not as hard as scooped ice cream.

And Freddy’s Custard makes for an an incredible thick milkshake!

For the upcoming Cinnaminson location I first wrote about it almost a year ago, when it was approved by the Planning Board.

The new Cinnaminson location sits right at the main entrance into the large shopping center (Extra Space Storage and K1 Cart Racing) with Freddy’s Steakburgers positioned on the right side as you pull in.

In my visit yesterday I could see the building was fully constructed and workers were focused on exterior details such as landscaping… and it appeared that crews were getting to install signage.

As you would expect, Freddy’s Steakburgers Cinnaminson features a drive-thru.

The update on the expected “Early September” opening timeframe comes from franchise owner Brian Bowman, who is a local Burlington County resident. I got to meet and spend some time with Brian when the Burlington location opened, and he is truly an awesome friendly guy, and it was clear that he is focused on making sure customers are happy with their Freddy’s dining experience.

Brian has signed on for the rights to develop 6 Freddy’s locations which I believe would be primarily focused in the Burlington County area.

Freddy’s Steakburgers Experience  – Burlington

In March of this year the Burlington Township location for Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers opened and I visited during the Friends and Family preview.

It is expected that the Cinnaminson location carries a similar style.

The building shape is designed in a long narrow rectangular layout, which seems to be more the standard in new fast food development today.

But inside, the Freddy’s team has designed a large dining room space for the restaurant, with plenty of large windows to open up the space.

The interior design of Freddy’s is reminiscent of a classic 1950s soda fountain that you might only see today in a Hollywood movie.

The seating is predominantly booths with very comfortable soft cushion seats… something I don’t think you see too often in a fast food category restaurant today.

The black and white checkered flooring and the accent touches of chrome and red paint, further support the retro look.

An interesting twist on that “classic restaurant” aspect, is the Freddy’s kitchen utilizes the latest technology in preparing your fresh food as fast and efficiently as possible.

Digital menu boards show the latest offerings… which isn’t too unique.

But behind the scenes in the kitchen, all of the key stations have digital touch screens which track each item in the orders as they are prepared.

For the burger preparation it’s a multi-step process where one grill gets the initial “smash” on the patty using a robotic arm! Then the smashed patty is moved down to a second grill for final cooking, and then finally the condiment section…  Where your custom order follows your burger through the process on digital screens that visually shows workers what to put on your burger!

Likely the most popular item in the restaurant is the Freddy’s Original Double. Keep in mind that being a thinner smash burger, each individual patty is thinner so the two patties will get you to a size closer to traditional quarter pound burger.

The steakburger patties are fresh, high quality beef which gets a dash of Freddy’s secret seasoning.  Standard preparation is cheese, mustard, onions and Pickles on a toasted bun but as I mentioned you can change it up however you like.

As mentioned the fries are 100% potato thin shoe strings.

Freddy’s offers 2 “Famous Fry” sauces… the original sauce is a tangy twist on ketchup, and the jalapeno Fry Sauce adds some extra spice.  Perfect for dipping your fries, or adding to any of the sandwiches

During my visit in March I got to try a variety of items including the steakburgers, hot dogs and even a Freddy’s Original Patty melt…   honestly right now as I write this and look at the amazing photos I took five months ago I’m ready to take the drive up to Burlington.

And I will absolutely be at the opening for the Cinnaminson Freddy’s. It’s actually a faster ride from my Gloucester County home and in my drive yesterday I realized I’ve been missing a lot of new development out that way. I have a feeling I’ll be visiting this new Rt 130 Freddy’s a lot more often
