Deptford Raising Cane’s Grand Opening Tuesday April 30th.  Details and Preview Photos

Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers opens their latest location with Deptford opening tomorrow Tuesday April 30th.  I stopped in a day before opening to check out the restaurant, which has a different design than the opened locations in Cherry Hill, Marlton and Burlington.

I also have the rundown of opening day festivities which start early in the morning!

I’ll add that while planned locations in Washington Township and Glassboro have been approved, it appears there will be some amount of break before we see construction starting at those locations. I have also posted information on early-stage plans for locations in Lawnside and Millville.

For those wondering about traffic flow, you can NOT enter the Canes parking lot area from the Target Store side! You have to go to the Traffic Light “Applebees” entrance.

Raising Cane’s?

So even though Raising Cane’s restaurants are still relatively new to South Jersey, I feel like everybody by now must have an understanding of what Cane’s is all about…

But if you’re unfamiliar, the quick rundown is they make fresh, high quality chicken fingers which can be ordered as fingers or a sandwich. The high quality and seasoned taste of the chicken fingers, as well as their “Cane’s” sauce has made them fan favorites across the country.

Raising Cane’s also offers a variety of sides such as Texas toast, french fries and coleslaw, which to many are as popular as the chicken fingers themselves!

As an indication of how focused the menu is, in the drive-thru while they do have a larger menu board, there’s a smaller “pre” board which literally just has four choices, representing the four combo options!

Deptford Raising Cane’s – Grand Opening Tuesday April 30th

The Deptford Raising Cane’s is located at a prime “traffic signaled” intersection in the heart of Deptford’s commercial district.   The all new construction sits in front of a Target store which has a BJ’s warehouse club next to it.  Applebee’s is also in the shopping center and Best Buy is located directly across the street.

Most will remember the location as Don Pablo’s restaurant which closed several years ago.

Raising Cane’s likes to go all out with their openings and the Deptford location will open at 9:00 AM on Tuesday April 30th.

That being said hundreds will likely show up earlier to take advantage of the early morning Grand Opening ceremony.. not to mention the weather will be amazing!

The first 100 “dine-in” customers at Deptford to purchase any combo meal will receive a free T-shirt and box combo card for your next visit.

You can also register for a chance to be one of the 20 to win free Cane’s for a year, but entries are only accepted Tuesday from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM, and winner is drawn between 8:20 AM and 8:30 AM.

It could be you! Onne of my biggest 42Freeway fans, Sophia… won the Free Cane’s for a Year at one of the prior openings!

Raising Cane’s Deptford – Design

As mentioned the new Raising Cane’s in Deptford is a different design than the prior three locations. Today was my second time visiting, but the first opportunity I had to take photos.

Inside, all of the signature Raising Cane’s elements are featured, including the three mirrored dancing balls which add a fun and festive sparkling experience to the dining room.

Seating at Raising Cane’s is varied with a variety of high-tops, tables and booths.

The One Love branding is prominently displayed over the front register, and of course the signature “busting through the wall” Raising Cane’s logo adorns a side wall.

Apparently the founder of Raising Cane’s was a big Elvis fans and every location features a custom painted Elvis portrait…  with each one painted by Steve Ko who is an internationally known portrait artist and teacher.

Even the namesake dog “Cane” is shown on the wall, as well as several framed photos of area high schools including my high school… Triton Regional in Runnemede!

So the first biggest noticeable change at Deptford is while there is some outdoor seating (a few tables), it does not have the larger outdoor patio space that you find in Cherry Hill, Marlton and Burlington.

Additionally I would say the dining room area in Deptford appears smaller and features fewer seats although I don’t want to put a number or percentage on it!

I’ve been told the different design is more about how the Deptford property was configured, and needing to accommodate it.

Deptford does picks up a third lane in the dive-thru, which mostly will be used as a by-pass lane… but I’m told at times if they get very busy they will be able to operate it as a third drive-thru lanes!

So while Deptford offers the same delicious chicken fingers and dining experience, it seems the dining capacity is likely half of the other locations.

But my experience in covering business and the information I hear from other Deptford retailers tells me… I bet that when Raising Cane’s monthly store sales are measured six months or 12 months after each location opening, Deptford will likely be their number one location!
