Del Buono’s Bakery Opening Logan Twp Retail Store

Del Buono’s Bakery Opening Logan Twp Retail Store

An iconic South Jersey bakery for generations, the Del Buono’s Bakery family is expanding with a new retail location coming soon to Logan Township in Gloucester County.

The upcoming Del Buono’s retail store is opening at the “Acme” shopping center on Center Square Road, and will feature their freshly baked Italian bread and rolls, pizzelle and biscotti, along with baked goods, desserts and specialty items.

Everything will be incredibly fresh, delivered every day from the main bakery location in Haddon Heights just 25 minutes away.

The Haddon Heights main bakery on the Black Horse Pike is famous for their large outdoor character sculptures of animals and people… and yes, Haddon Heights Del Buono’s still has the massive roll baking oven where customers can actually grab rolls immediately as they exit the baking oven!

It’s tough to find a fresher roll in South Jersey!

I’ve chatted with representatives of Del Buono’s who tell me that the Logan Township location requires a small amount of construction to get it ready, including some additional cabinetry and custom displays… so they’re looking at opening in four to six weeks (around June 1st).

News of the location was announced in early April at the Del Buono’s Facebook page, and they are already starting the hiring process for Logan Township.

Today Del Buono’s has four South Jersey locations; Haddon Heights*, Bellmawr*, Stratford* and Marlton.  (The *asterisk denotes Carmen’s Deli also).

Realizing that some readers will ask this question about Logan.… at only 700 square feet, the Logan location will not be offering the Carmen’s Deli aspects.

Speaking of Del Buono’s being a multi-generation icon… Next year the bakery will celebrate it’s 100th anniversary!

And while several years ago the bakery became under new ownership, Nino Del Buono still lives in the neighborhood of the Haddon Heights bakery and visits regularly to check up on them to make sure they are still doing good things!

Del Buono’s Haddon Heights still has the “Grab’em as the come out” roll oven! Facebook

Owner Tom Whitman and the team have strived to keep the quality and taste just as everyone remembers for generations, but has also improved the main bakery with updated equipment for better quality, capacity and new products.

For example, from the recent equipment upgrades customers will soon see new products such as fresh braked rye breads, sourdoughs and ciabatta rolls available at all locations!

As we get closer to the Logan Township opening I’ll be back to share the preview with readers and who knows… maybe I’ll be taking a tour of the Haddon Heights bakery soon!
