Coppola Pizza Coming To Barrington NJ, Expanding From Chews Landing Location

Coppola Pizza is coming to Barrington New Jersey on Clements Bridge Road, taking over a location which most recently was home to “Slice”.

Barrington will be a second location for the Coppola family who have operated a successful Italian restaurant and pizza shop in the Chews Landing section of Gloucester Township for many decades. Customers have become fans and friends of the family, sharing online their amazing dining experiences at Coppola.

A delicious twist to the Coppola story that not many may know is that second generation owner Salvatore Coppola was a contestant on top chef reality show Hell’s Kitchen back in 2010… yes the Gordon Ramsay hosted show!

Sal was a fan favorite on Season 7 of Hell’s Kitchen… with fans connecting to his honesty, open personality and humor. “Not only is he a cool guy and a chef with a big heart, but also a fighter”

As mentioned the Coppola family has been preparing amazing meals for loyal South Jersey customers for around 40 years.

According to an article in The Patch (2012) the family has operated a restaurant in Gloucester Township since the 1980s, and in 1996 moved to the current Chews Landing Market place location… creating delicious pizza, sandwiches and Italian specialties for a loyal customer base.

The upcoming Barrington location is in a strip mall of eight stores on Clements Bridge Road at Williams Ave…. South of Rite Aid on the same block.

I had a chance to chat with owner Salvatore Coppola last week.

With things going very well at the Chews Landing location and many happy loyal customers, Sal decided to expand to other locations.

Earlier this year he posted in several Facebook groups inquiring about available pizza shop locations in South Jersey.

It seems it was a smart move for Sal because this likely led to him becoming aware of the availability of the Slice Pizza shop in Barrington…. as I can see based on Facebook posts Slice was still operating a month before Sal made his public inquiry!

The new Barrington location is sized as a more traditional South Jersey stripmall pizza shop, whereas their Chews Landing location is larger with a full restaurant dining space.

In Barrington, customers can expect to find the same delicious pizza and sandwiches… but I’m waiting for their opening to see if they bring over the full extensive menu which includes pasta dinners, chicken and veal dinners and more.

The family has been working on the new Barrington location for several weeks now and while an opening date is not locked in, Sal says they hope to open by the end of October or early November.

Coppola’s pizza definitely has many loyal fans as there are several mentions online of their restaurant, pizza and meals.

For example, at very popular Facebook Group South Jersey Food Scene there are a few recent posts including one declaring them the best pizza in South Jersey! That unsolicited customer post was liked by 335 members of the group with 154 comments!

Coppola’s is the best I’ve gone there so many times when I was young and older. It never changes. Pizza is great and dinners are great as well. Just a great little pizza place in a shopping center.
