Cinco De Mayo Mexican Restaurant is Open In Chews Landing Gloucester Twp

Cinco De Mayo Mexican restaurant is open in a newly remodeled strip mall in the Chews Landing section of Gloucester Township.  They join Fruiggie Juice, Bosworth Bagels, Villa Russo and more in the center which used to be home to Edlen Meats.

Offering hand-made tortillas for their tacos and more… the focus at Cinco De Mayo Chews Landing is on freshness and flavors!

Cinco De Mayo takes over the leftmost unit in the building, directly next to the former Little Pond Golf Driving Range, which is being rebuilt into a mixed-use commercial and residential project. During my lunch the restaurant’s large side window gave me a front row seat to the excavators and dump trucks quietly working to the side.

For Cinco de Mayo this is all new interior construction. The front dining area which seats about 28 people has a nice casual style to it, carrying the party theme of the Cinco De Mayo holiday via some fun and festive decorations spread throughout the dining space.

I stopped in this afternoon at Cinco De Mayo for lunch and enjoyed a delicious burrito platter with fries, as well as an order of pork pastor tacos.

The pastor tacos are marinated pork with pineapple, served with onion and cilantro in a hand-made tortilla shell.

My chicken burrito was packed with chicken, rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, pico de gallo and a side of french fries.

Both were deliciously fresh and tasty, but the large burrito with side order of French fries at under 10 bucks seemed like an extra good deal.

When I walked in I went directly to the front counter and placed my order with Melanie who is the daughter of owner. With my choice to dine-in, after taking my order I was asked to sit down and Melanie switched over to server mode and brought my food out and asked me regularly if I needed anything else.

She also quickly brought over some delicious tortilla chip appetizers with two different sauces

Melanie explained that her family lives in the area, and restaurants have been a part of her family life for as long as she remembers.  Recently dad has mostly been the one working in the restaurant business, and for Cinco De Mayo mom decided it was her turn… so with help from the family, mom opened up the new BYOB restaurant.

The food categories on the inside of the menu are the more casual dining aspects such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos and enchiladas.

The back of the menu introduces more entree driven Mexican dishes at a slightly higher price point, including a selection of seafood entrees and steaks.

Cinco De Mayo is opens from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and they do have a variety of breakfast options such as huevos con chorizo which is eggs with Mexican sausage… served with rice, beans, cheese and avocado.

The new Mexican restaurant close to Chews Landing ShopRite brings comfortable casual Mexican food and a comfortable casual dining experience to Gloucester Township.
