The long awaited and anticipated Chipotle restaurant on Egg Harbor Rd in Washington Township is now open! The location is a remodeled building in front of the Acme Supermarket. This new unit features one of the first drive-thru pickup Chipotlanes for our area.
Chipotlane is not a traditional “ordering” drive-thru lane… instead customers must order electronically via the web or smartphone app, and they can pick the order up at the drive-thru Chipotlane without getting out of their car!
The same pad building will also house a First Watch daytime cafe, but seems development on First Watch has stalled.
We’ve drove by the Chipotle a few times the last few days and noticed it was packed with employees doing their in store training. I even drove by last night at 10:30pm… didn’t get out to confirm the opening date, but the official Washington Twp Facebook page broke the news this morning with the official grand opening, attended by Mayor Gattinelli!
42Freeway has been following and reporting on this story all along, since the first planning board meeting (Which was only 19 mos ag0)! We still remember the one Facebook commenter “can’t believe what this guy says, he said Chipotle was coming and it’s still not here.” Well here ya go buddy! Ha! But seriously.. this stuff just takes a long time to develop and open, and 42Freeway is simply letting people know about things before they normally would! Makes the project development time seem even longer!

New each Monday through September 28, Chipotle is hosting a Free Delivery Monday Matchup, where Rewards members (join at Chipotle.com/Rewards) will be challenged to predict the final score of a pre-selected sporting event in the entrée name of their digital order prior to the start of the game. Each week, up to 10 winners who correctly predict the score will receive a year’s worth of free burritos via their Rewards account. Chipotle is also offering free delivery on all orders of $10 or more via the Chipotle app and Chipotle.com every Monday through September 28.
