Cacia’s Bakery Blackwood Location Closing

Cacia’s Bakery Blackwood Location Closing

The Blackwood location of the popular Cacia’s Bakery has announced that they are closing, with a final day set for May 12th.

Only the Blackwood location is closing. It is located on the Black Horse Pike close to Lakeland/Davistown Road, across from Dunkin and Sam’s Bar.

A few days ago I saw some social media commentary about the closing but today the Cacia’s Blackwood Facebook Page confirmed the news, with a statement from owners Sam and Karen Cacia. (Facebook)

We regret to announce that Cacia’s Bakery at our BLACKWOOD location will close permanently, effective May 12, 2025. This decision was not made lightly, and we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering loyalty and support throughout the years.

We understand that this news is disappointing. Please rest assured that we explored every possible option before making this difficult decision. We believe this is the best course of action for us.

Your support has meant everything to us, and it has been a true privilege to serve you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of our journey.

Warmest regards,

Sam and Karen Cacia

Cacia’s Bakery

Cacia’s Bakery makes a variety of fresh baked rolls and offers a full deli featuing amazing hoagies with Dietz & Watson lunchmeat as well as the very popular Cacia’s Pizza.

Other menu items include pasta, stromboli, roast pork sandwiches and even desserts with amazing cannoli and pizzelles

Cacia’s bakery started back in 1953 in South Philadelphia and today there are seven different locations operated by various members of the Cacia family

the Cacia bakery website describes how Sam Cacia Sr opened his original corner bakery on Mole and Ritner streets in South Philadelphia (1953) and soon after his eldest son Joe took over the bakery and with the addition of his brothers Louis and Raymond they ensured that the bakery would thrive with additional locations.

The Blackwood location is owned by the original founders grandson Sam (Louis’ Son) and wife Karen.

Originally opened in Blackwood in 1977 and relocated at least once, Cacia’s has been a part of the Blackwood community for likely 50 years!

At this time I am unaware of the reasons for the closing of the shop.

Cacia’s closest location to Blackwood is in Williamstown, with other locations in Cherry Hill, Hammonton, Audubon, Haddonfield and South Philadelphia.
