The Blended Joe Coffee Bar is open in Washington Township offering delicious coffees and drinks with a healthy twist… Joe roasts all of their coffee beans and is able to add flavors during the roasting process, which means no added sugars.
For example, when you order a Wild Blueberry coffee at Blended Joe you get all of the delicious blueberry flavor, but none of the added sugars that you would get from other shops who use a sweet sugary syrup add-in.
I stopped in a few days ago and caught up with Joe, business partner Eric and store manager Kim to get all of the details on their take-out “Coffee Bar” which opened up in the strip mall next to Jefferson Hospital. (Where the post office is located, across from PJ Whelihan’s).
This is actually a relocation for Blended Joe, as for a short while they were located in Mantua Township… but Joe being a lifelong Washington Township resident really wanted his signature coffee bar location to be in his hometown.
I first covered the plans for this Hurffville-Crosskeys Rd location back in December, but honestly I am a little slow on the opening! Blended Joe opened up about a month ago, and Joe is ecstatic about the response the community has given him with early sales numbers surpassing his goals.
And as I visited Blended Joe for about an hour during a late morning midweek day, there was a constant stream of customers coming in for the delicious freshly brewed beverages, hot and cold! They’ve clearly already connected with the Washington Twp community!

Inside the Blended Joe shop, the space is nicely designed with an industrialized-farm vibe.
That being said, with the large front windows and open space it is a very inviting and coffee shop. Another partner, Rachel… helps with the back-office and marketing aspects, with menus and display boards featuring attractive and fun graphics to highlight the menu.
Blended Joe in Washington Township does not offer customer seating (take-out only) which is likely why Joe calls it a “coffee bar” and not a café.
The menu features the classic Cappuccinos, Americanos, Lattes and more… as well as Iced Coffees, Cold Brew, Frozen Cofffee Blenders, Frozen Frappes, Coffeeccinos and more.
The only item in the shop that has an added syrup based flavor is the Frozen Refreshers, which is like a slushie. Joe added them to give options for the whole family.
For my visit I went with a Chocolate Raspberry Frozen Coffee Blender which includes a double shot of espresso! Bursting with delicious flavor it gave me the delicious boost I needed to get through the rest of the day.
Blended Joe also features delicious pastries from a variety of local businesses including the Au Fornil bakery out of Philadelphia, which is operated by bakers who trained in France.
I picked up a Raspberry Almondine Tart, a fresh Cinnamon Roll and one of my favorites was the French Beignet with vanilla cream. Delicious!
Joe is also working on a variety of other collaborations and will soon be bringing in miniature cheesecakes from H&H confections in Egg Harbor City, and Frios Gourmet Frozen Popsicles in Cherry Hill.
Another big bonus change is Joe will soon be roasting the coffee directly in the Washington Township location!
Currently Blended Joe has a facility in Burlington County where he roasts and packages the coffees. Every day he brings freshly roasted beans to the shop, but also his roasting facility also packages the coffees for direct consumer sales (website) as well as a variety of charitable fundraising options.
When Joe was describing his happiness with the response from the community he shared the story of when he made the very first cappuccino in Washington Township using his brand new machine… he was so eager to hear some feedback from the customer but they quietly walked out the door.
Less than a minute later that customer had turned around and come back into the blended Joe coffee bar to say “This this is the best cappuccino I’ve ever had”.
Joe knew at that moment his move to Washington Township was the right one.
