Ash & Oak is a new wood-fired pizza restaurant which will be opening in a few weeks on Williamstown’s Main Street. The new artisan pizza, pasta and more restaurant is being developed by the popular Travelling Tomato mobile pizza team.
The location for the new all-season restaurant in Williamstown is across the street from the 13th Child Brewery, and the casual yet delicious Ash & Oak menu offerings should prove to be a perfect match for the two businesses.

No matter the day, occasion, circumstance… You can never go wrong with pizza and beer! Delicious locally crafted pizza and beer.
It’s easy to envision customers taking a freshly baked wood-fired pizza over to 13th Child, or maybe grab some delicious freshly brewed beers and head on over to the newly refreshened Ash & Oak dining space.
OMG! The best pizza I have had in a long time. Like seriously, the combination of ingredients is something that was well planned out when these pizza recipes were put together. Let’s talk about the chorizo and dates pizza! I could have that one every day if it was an option 😀 You guys need to try them out when the truck comes to your area. The best? It’s called traveling tomato but they have white pizzas!!! Those are the ones I prefer.
Yelp Review from an “Elite 24” reviewer (RE: Traveling Tomato)

I stopped in a few days ago and caught up with Vince who with his partners are working on some upgrades to the former Nicolette’s On Main restaurant space interior, and they expect to be open in just a few weeks… Early November at the latest with hopes of opening earlier.
Vince has had a successful career within the restaurant industry which included culinary arts school, and experience in multiple restaurants including Café Loren Avalon, and the Atlantic City casino restaurants.
Most notable though is the Traveling Tomato mobile event/catering wood-fired pizza truck which in just a few short years has become a fan-favorite at the top South Jersey festivals, events, wineries and breweries.

Ash & Oak began its journey as a humble food truck called the Traveling Tomato, bringing authentic wood-fired pizza to festivals, events, and neighborhoods throughout New Jersey. Our passion for crafting simple, high-quality pizza using fresh, local ingredients quickly gained a loyal following.

So don’t be worried… you’ll still see the Travelling Tomato at your favorite top events next season… but that’s exactly why Vince and his team are excited about Ash & Oak.

Ash & Oak Williamstown is a full restaurant with dining room space that will be open year round… which is a perfect balance to the warm weather season of the Traveling Tomato.
It’s a smart balance for the partners because as we all know in the warmer New Jersey months, restaurants see a dip in sales as customers become more focused on outdoor activities and the Jersey shore… so the blended year-round revenue streams of Traveling Tomato and Ash & Oak seems like a very smart balance.
And the upcoming Main Street restaurant also offers an outdoor dining space.

Inside the Ash & Oak dining room space they’ve refreshed all of the paint and added their own decorative touches. For the most part though the space was already set up as an awesome casual dining space, already featuring the large wood-fired oven.
Tables and chairs have been returned to the space but with my unannounced visit the full restaurant space was not “camera ready” on that day.
I notice that one section of the dining room looked ready-to-go, showcasing not only the dining room experience… but also the mindset of Ash & Oak.

One of the first things Vince added it to the décor was a photo of famed celebrity foodie Anthony Bourdain who is a person who Vince admired and gained inspiration from. The quote along with the photo captures Vince’s mindset for both life and his upcoming Ash & Oak.
Eat at a local restaurant tonight. Get the cream sauce. Have a cold pint at 4 o’clock in a mostly empty bar. Go somewhere you’ve never been. Listen to someone you think may have nothing in common with you. Order the steak rare. Eat an oyster. Have a negroni. Have two. Be open to a world where you may not understand or agree with the person next to you, but have a drink with them anyways. Eat slowly. Tip your server. Check in on your friends. Check in on yourself. Enjoy the ride.

For the menu, well of course Ash & Oak will be bringing their amazing wood-fired artisan pizzas to Main Street Williamstown!
But Traveling Tomato team is excited to have a full kitchen space to work with, and look forward to utilizing the much larger kitchen to offer an expanded menu.

Vince isn’t offering a lot of details on the full menu plans just yet, but I did see references to pasta… and another comment on their Facebook calls out “Italian-inspired cuisine”… Which for all of the fans of the Travelling Tomato (as well as new fans to come), it can only mean exciting things for the Ash & Oak restaurant in Williamstown NJ
Now, we’re excited to open our first brick-and-mortar restaurant on Main Street in Williamstown, New Jersey. Rooted in tradition but driven by innovation, Ash & Oak is where the warmth of the fire meets the heart of Italian-inspired cuisine, offering a space to share great food with friends, family, and neighbors.
