Ark Brew Pub in Lumberton Closes Abruptly

Ark Brew Pub in Lumberton New Jersey has announced their immediate closing.

The announcement yesterday was made on their social media channels, and the Ark Brew Pub website homepage is now also updated with the same text.

The commentary thanks guests and the amazing staff for all the memories, and takes a positive tone stating that when one door closes another door opens.

Beyond that they don’t offer any details regarding the closure.

This is a very abrupt closure… less than a week ago they offered a Sunday Brunch (which they planned on offering again), and shared a video online from the event which showed a very crowded restaurant space!

In response to customer comments regarding Gift Cards, Ark stated “We are working on a solution to get a system in place to refund all purchased giftcards… stay tuned to our socials to find out how to receive a refund”

After four years it is with a heavy heart that Ark Brew Pub will be shutting its door effective immediately. To all our beloved guests and amazing staff, we thank you for all the memories. When one door closes another door opens, and we have no doubt all of our staff will be moving on to bigger and better things. Whether it is in the hospitality industry or not the relationships between staff and guests alike will last forever. Ark Brew Pub

Opened four years ago as Ark Brewery, Restaurant & Pub… for most of the that time they operated with two of the three facets operating; a restaurant with a full bar offering.

What many likely did not realize is in the back spaces of the building is a fully outfitted brewery which had been sitting there unused since their opening four years ago… Well, unused until sometime this summer when Ark was finally able to “fired up” the brewery equipment and started making delicious beers.

In April of this year they created a brand new Facebook page featuring the new name Ark Brew Pub. Then on July 2nd they introduced everyone to their new head hrewer and announced their first brew was available… aptly named “New Beginnings”.

I stopped in about six weeks ago wanting to do a story on their new brewery capabilities and beers.

I had a nice conversation with one of the members of the leadership team but my timing for that November visit was just as they were getting ready for a large event. I really wanted to get photos of the brewery space but with a lot of activity taking place… we agreed to a plan where Ark was going to send me updated brewery operations photos for an article.

Unfortunately that subsequent photo connection never happened, and I didn’t get that article online! But while I was there they had four of their own Ark Beers on tap, and I did get to try them.

At the time I was excited for the team because in my several visits to Ark over the last few years I was very impressed with their restaurant menu which had a core theme around BBQ… but they really offered a broader menu of elevated Tavern food.

Well again no new details have come up specific to the reason for this closure but it’s important to mention that it was widely reported in the beginning of this year that due to liquor license violations in 2022, Ark was losing use of its license for 6 weeks (which they completed). Courier-Post

So at this time we don’t have any reasons for the closure or the what the plans are for the beautiful restaurant and bar facility.
