Another South Jersey Arby’s location closes with the surprising shutdown this week of the Audubon NJ restaurant.
First reported to me by a few readers, I stopped over today to see that the Audubon Arby’s logoed signage was already removed from the building, the building was darkened, and a handwritten note in the drive-thru window simply said:
Permanently Closed 🙁
Please visit our other locations: Deptford, Turnersville, Evesham

This is the third South Jersey location for the roast beef and sandwich fast food restaurant which has closed recently, with the Arby’s locations in Berlin NJ closing earlier in 2024, and Magnolia NJ closing this past fall.
The Berlin location closure actually had a silver lining to it as that building has been rebranded as a dual restaurant location…. Split down the middle, it features a Sonic Drive-In on one side, and a Buffalo Wild Wings Go on the other.
Unfortunately for the Magnolia Arby’s building, there was no immediate future for it within the same franchise group and it was put up for lease.

And even though the Arby’s Audubon location just closed in the last day or two… the Audubon Commons shopping center owner Wolfson Group already has posted the lease opportunity for the Audubon fast food restaurant building. (Loopnet)
Arby’s is part of Inspire Brands which is a privately held company that also has under it’s ownership umbrella Buffalo Wild Wings, Sonic Drive-In, Jimmy John’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, Mr. Donut and Baskin-Robbins chains.

Being a privately held company it’s more difficult to get direct access to sales numbers for Arby’s. Industry reports say that in 2023 Arby’s had 3,400 units and generated $4.6 billion in sales.
This equals about $1.35 million in sales per location.
Compare that to industry leader Chick-fil-A which has about 10% fewer restaurants at 2964, but generated almost five times the sales at $21 Billion… equaling about $7 million per location!
The Wolfson Group leasing brochure shows the property along the side of the Acme Supermarket building, featuring it’s one dedicated block of 79 parking spaces in the outparcel.
