The large red barn, house and former farm land of the eclectic and popular “Antiques Only” store on Ganttown Rd Washington Township has been sold.
A large dumpster can be seen next to the landmark barn, and business signage has been removed.
The deal closed this summer and is listed in County documents as being just under $1 million dollars for the two connected properties.
The buyer is Fieldstone Associates of Bridgewater NJ. They are a successful developer in New Jersey with several area apartment projects completed and in process.
One of Fieldstones most well known and successful projects is the Haddon Towne Center on Haddon Ave, in Haddon Township. The $53 million project converted an abandoned diaper factory property into all new 252 high-end apartments with retail.
For the newly acquired Washington Township property, at this time there is no information on the actual plans for the Washington Township (Gloucester County) property.
The Ganntown property is 3/4 of a mile off of the Black Horse Pike. That Ganttown & Black Horse Pike intersection is where Harbor Freight is located and the DMV (as well as an upcoming Fun City trampoline park.)
Big hat-tip to reader Kevin C for noticing the changes at the property and reaching out!

Antiques Only Background
Antiques only was a unique “antiques and more” business housed in a large two-story barn in Washington Township (Gloucester County) New Jersey.
A small home sat in the front of the property closer to the roadway, and the large barn sat in the back.
Surrounding the barn an ever growing collection of outdoor products were set out, from children’s toys to lawn décor. The outside was more similar to a large yard-sale.
But inside the barn the property had a more professional feel to it, with the large space cordoned off into separate themed “room” areas.
A 2012 Vineland Daily Journal called the barn… “A dreamy place for hunters seeking their next treasure”.
The owner was Joy Piddington who was a part-time math teacher in Washington Township.
She opened the Antique store around 2000 in the barn that really was the centerpiece of a working farm.
The Journal article goes on to say at one time the property was a 60-acre working vegetable farm owned by her family, the Shishoff’s… since 1918.
While many of the items are from her collection, a primary business model was a co-op.
Those small “rooms” areas I mentioned were actually leased out to other antique dealers in a commission based arrangement.
Room areas featured children’s room items, holiday décor, local sports memorabilia, general décor and more!
For the most part the items were things you would proudly put on display at your home
Antiques Only Flagpole Status?
In researching this post I found a 2014 article in NJ.com about the 42 foot high flagpole at the property.
The large flagpole was positioned along Washington Township’s Egg Harbor Road but was in the way of a county based road widening project happening then.
Police Chief Pat Gurscik heard that the flagpole was headed to the scrap heap, and he wanted to save it!
And according to NJ.com.. Pat had the perfect place.
He reached out to Joy at Antiques Only to see if she would be interested in the flagpole at her well visited property.
“I said ‘I’m in, but we have to get it up by the (July) 4th,” Piddington
I didn’t now this about the Antiques Only property before I headed over there this morning for drone photos.
But in my images, there it is… a large flagpole!
Well I am not sure today if there is still interest in saving the flagpole…either for use within whatever is to come for the Ganttown property or maybe elsewhere in a Washington Township park, if the new owners have no use for it.
Fieldstone Associates
As I mentioned, Fieldstone Associates are New Jersey based developers.
Online mentions indicate Fieldstone Associates are very active with several New Jersey projects, but I haven’t located a Company website or Facebook page.
Other interesting projects they appear to be associated with:
- Haddon Towne Center
- Eastampton Place West
- Redevelopment Burlington County College Pemberton (Pine Barrens Tribune)
- $29 Mill Affordable and Market Housing at Evesham Public Works (View From Evesham)
