Altius Dispensary is coming to Glassboro NJ, taking over one of the two former Fosters Party Store buildings on Delsea Drive.
Construction fencing surrounds the two buildings at the corner of Delsea Drive and New Street, which has had several people wondering what was planned for the two buildings.
The full property was previously home to Fosters Home Decor and Party Store which closed in October of 2022 when the ownership retired and the property was sold.
For the Altius Dispensary, in April of 2023 a resolution was approved by Glassboro stating that the Borough was in agreement of Altius Dispensary’s plans to operate a Class 5 cannabis retail business at the 60 N Delsea Drive property.
This type of Township approval is required before the New Jersey Cannabis Commission will act on the licensing as the State wants to know that the cannabis operator has a location which is conditionally approved by Town.
While the construction fencing covers both buildings including the much larger main Fosters store building in the rear… I have not located any plans or details for that larger building which sits at New Street and Charlotte Ave.
Altius Dispensary Glassboro
Altius is a Greek word which means altitude or higher, as in the motto of the Olympic Games “Citius, Altius, Fortius”… faster, higher, stronger.
For the dispensary it inspires their motto; Change Your Attitude.
Altius currently has two dispensary locations opened in Illinois with a third also coming soon to Illinois.
Glassboro would be their 4th location and their first one to open in New Jersey.
Online Altius shows an architect’s rendering of the Glassboro building front facade, which looks like a nicely done and modern redevelopment of the building.
The building front is designed with five equal segments. Four of those segments will feature large multi pane windows. One segment shows a smaller window.
The front door entrance is not clear from the single image available… it’s likely off to the side of the building.
Nice angular graphics are displayed on the building which somewhat resembles a mountain range.
This will be a full retail dispensary supporting adult use purchases. They will offer free parking, ATM on site, and online ordering for easy in store pickup.
At this time I do not have details on when they expect to open.
