The all-new 810 Billiards & Bowling entertainment facility being developed in Vineland looks to “bowl over” customers starting in 4-6 weeks (September) with a family-oriented entertainment facility.
Along with bowling and billiards, “810” will also offer axe-throwing, sports simulators, arcade games, Mean Mugs milkshake counter… and a restaurant with full bar!
UPDATE: Hiring for hourly employees has started. Indeed Careers
Last week I caught up with South Jersey based owner Gary, who gave me a preview tour of the new entertainment facility which is located in the area of the Cumberland Mall. Scroll below for my photo update, but also FOLLOW ON FACEBOOK, as Gary has been posting updates there.
As we walked through the space, with Gary pointing out all of the different fun and food aspects I just couldn’t help but smile and say “Gary, this is awesome! Vineland and South Jersey are going to love this place!”
Gary knows the Vineland community and marketplace very well, as he operates the successful Brass Tap Tavern / Toast Wine & Spirits which is about a mile away north on Delsea Drive (Facebook)
Seeing success with those two businesses helped give Gary even more confidence that Vineland was the perfect community for his largest investment ever…810 Billiards & Bowling!
I want this to be a family destination for Vineland and beyond. I felt the area was in need of more places focused on bringing family’s closer. I have two young children myself, and we’re always so busy heading to the next practice or event, I really want 810 Billiards & Bowling to be a place where the iPads and smartphones are put away, and families can focus on having fun together sharing loving moments.
Gary – Owner of the upcoming 810 Billiards & Bowling in Vineland NJ
The 26,000 square foot building for 810 is located on Delsea Drive directly next to Red Lobster and the Cumberland Mall.
The large free-standing building for 810 Billiards & Bowling was most recently an Avalon Carpet & Tile location. Older readers may remember when it was home to American Appliance up until 2001.
In my visit last week I saw that the core “big ticket” construction items were close to being completed, including the bowling alley installation, areas for game simulators and axe throwing. Even the dedicated milkshake counter as well as the bar and restaurant area were in the final construction stages.
Maybe the last bigger item to be completed is the flooring installation in the restaurant/arcade open area, which has been left for the later construction days as the space is used as a construction staging area. But after a quick cleanup and floor installation, they’ll be ready to roll-in the arcade games, tables and more.
Gary expects to be open next month hoping for mid-September… but let’s just say “by the end of the September”.
He tells me he has hired his management team for the facility and soon will be posting job offerings for all of the other hourly positions including bartenders, kitchen help, game and bowling attendants and more.
810 Billiards & Bowling – Vineland
It’s in the name!!! 810 Billiards & Bowling in Vineland allocates the largest space to the bowling and billiards area, but South Jersey based owner Gary says what drew him to the brand is that they offer a variety of activities… truly something for everyone!
Sports/Golf simulators, Axe Throwing and an Arcade round out the experience options, as well as delicious food, adult beverages, and innovative milkshakes.
As mentioned, 810 Billiards & Bowling is located on Delsea Drive next to Red Lobster (and the large Cumberland Mall property).
With the “810” building sitting up closer to Delsea Drive, the entrance and parking is in the rear of the building. Simply drive down Smith Street (Holiday Inn Express) to the parking lot entrance. You cannot cross over directly from the mall parking lot into the 810 parking lot.
The large building for 810 Billiards and Bowling is a long rectangle going back deeper from the entrance. The interior has been designed to split the building into two long sections left/right, with the billiards and bowling sharing one segment (more than half) and the restaurant/bar/arcade on the other segment.
When you enter the main entrance, the doorway immediately leads you to the left segment of the building.
At the entrance you’ll find the host stand, but your attention will likely be immediately drawn to the activities positioned to the front of this high-ceiling space… sights and sounds of the arcade games, Mean Mugs Milkshake Bar, Axe Throwing and more.
The arcade area in the front center will have about 30-40 games, including games with offer prizes. Gary says they will be set for “play until you win”.
Mean Mugs Milkshake Bar is actually a separate franchise from 810, but Gary saw the two as a perfect match. The front corner counter area offers “over the top, instagrammable, and delicious” milkshakes where flavors extend way above the top of the glass!
As an example The Rocker milkshake is topped with Mini Blueberry Muffins, Red Rock Candy Sticks, Vanilla Buttercream Icing and more!
The interior divider wall on this side is lined with the axe throwing and golf simulator spaces.
Axe throwing has a nice setup where the four throwing lanes are separated into two segments… And immediately in front of each of the lane segments are dedicated high top bench seating and tables.
Directly after the axe throwing booths are the three simulator spacee which are configured to offer some privacy as three-walled units that are still open to the larger room.
These simulators support golf of course, but also have a variety of games including soccer and fun activities that the entire family can enjoy.
A low enclosure wall in front of the simulators helps define a dedicated area for those using the projection based systems.
To the back of this initial large open space is the restaurant and bar area (just past the arcade). With the floor in this area being one of the last core items to be installed (very soon) there are no tables and chairs in place at this time.
Reviewing the online menu, the restaurant features casual tavern selections such as burgers, wings, pizza, salads, cheesesteaks, nachos and tacos… and more!
The bar area is mostly in-place along the back wall with about a dozen draft taps in place.
While it appears there will be some bar stool seating available, it’s not a significant sized bar… which is likely intentional. The ice cold beer, cocktail or delicious wine that you can get at the 810 bar is really more about enjoying it with your meal, or taking with you to enjoy one of the many activities.
So with “Billiards & Bowling” in the name… is it surprising I haven’t mentioned them yet?
The smart design has these two signature aspects in the rightmost section of the building. To access this other area, from the main entrance you walk past the arcade and simulators to the back of the room and in the area of the bar/restaurant is the opening to the bowling lanes and billiard tables.
There are 16 lanes total and they are positioned with 10 lanes along the back wall, and 6 lanes on the opposite wall. Between the two rows of bowling lanes is a large open space which is where the billiard tables will be positioned.
The configuration of the 6 lanes in one grouping makes it a perfect area to rent for private parties and events!
