A Texas Roadhouse steak restaurant is coming to Marlton NJ, taking over the recently closed TGI Friday’s in the AMC movie theater shopping center.
This news was initially speculated about a week ago at popular Facebook Page A View From Evesham. (Facebook). Super-Sleuth Neil had discovered a new LLC was created for “Texas Roadhouse of Marlton NJ LLC “. There was no address attached to this new LLC formation, but Neil also noticed that the TGI Friday’s property real estate listing had been updated recently to say Lease-Pending.
The final confirmation came late yesterday when a liquor license change public notice was published listing Texas Roadhouse of Marlton NJ LLC as taking over the license for premises located at 970 N Route 73 Marlton.
That address is the former TGIFriday’s restaurant!
As you can imagine this is very early in the process so at this time we do not have an expected opening date.
Plus you have to consider that based on their existing locations in Sicklerville and Millville… Texas Roadhouse really likes to carry the rustic Western theme both inside and outside of the restaurant… So I would imagine this TGI Friday’s building will see some significant remodeling to bring the “Texas Roadhouse Style” to Marlton.
Regardless it seems like a great location for the steakhouse restaurant, with the shopping center already supporting a Whole Foods Market and an AMC Marlton 8… offering very good foot traffic.
From what I see from the existing locations, particularly the one on Cross Keys Road in Sicklerville, the public really does love this national chain steakhouse… and this new Marlton location should prove to be very popular particularly sitting on the highly traveled Route 73, and in very close proximity to Route 70, the New Jersey Turnpike, and Route 295… people will drive a little bit out of their way to get to Texas Roadhouse!
Texas Roadhouse
If you’re unfamiliar… Texas Roadhouse is an American steakhouse chain which specializes in steaks… and additional Southwestern entrees and appetizers
Everything at Texas Roadhouse is made from scratch including the dinner rolls! Even the steaks are hand-cut within each location.
Almost as famous as the delicious steaks is the Cactus Blossom appetizer which is a Texas sized golden fried onion with Cajun sauce for dipping.
The menu also includes Fall-Off-The-Bone Ribs, a variety of chicken specialties, burgers and sandwiches and even salads!
One of their early signature features was their free peanuts where they would encourage you to throw the peanut shells onto the floor! It was a great marketing campaign because people would talk about it “hey did you hear…” and then want to go and see it for themselves
By the end of the night the floor could be completely covered with peanut shells that had been ground almost into a powder from guests and servers walking on them
Today that practice is no longer allowed and in fact many locations stopped serving the free peanuts. It seems the “shells on the floor” practice changed during extra-cleanly COVID pandemic era, but then also was a medical risk for those with peanut allergies.
