Salad House Cherry Hill opened over the Summer on Route 70, bringing freshly prepared salads, wraps, grain bowls, appetizers and more to the Barclay-Kingston area of town.
Salad House stands out for their focus on healthy and freshly prepared food, as well as offering an innovative menu that is much more than “I’ll have a Caesar salad”
At Salad House they take “freshness” so seriously that fresh produce is delivered seven days a week, and everything is prepared in house.
Salad house lettuce is delivered as heads of romaine lettuce! That grilled chicken or steak you’ve ordered for your salad or bowl… it started as a fresh ingredient in the hands of the salad house chefs, who seasoned and cooked it right in the Cherry Hill kitchen.
And the menu offers a variety of interesting flavors, offer something for everyone in the family including innovative yet healthy side items.
They even offer a kids menu which is perfect for when mom wants to grab a salad but then doesn’t want to make a second trip to the drive-thru for the kids.
Located in the Sawmill Village Shopping Center where Dolsot House and Han Dynasty are all also located, Salad House moved into a prominent location in the middle of the shopping center.
With the large SALAD HOUSE sign out front, you are not going to miss them!
Salad House has approximately 20 locations throughout New Jersey, but if seems you haven’t heard of them before… well that’s because they started in North Jersey almost 15 years ago and Cherry Hill is the first location within our area.
The Cherry Hill location is owned by recently married couple Milos and Fabiana… who live just minutes away! So impressed were they with both the Salad House restaurant concept as well as the surrounding neighborhoods, when they signed on to join the Salad House team the young couple decided to make a home in the community!
As you would expect with a name like Salad House… salads are the big star of the menu, where the fresh produce, fruits and other ingredients are delivered daily.
But after spending some time with the owners and learning more about the menu, it wouldn’t surprise me if the list of overall top selling items have selections from all of their categories.
For example, today I tried their cauliflower bites.
This likely would come as a surprise to most but I don’t think I’ve ever ordered a “Cauliflower Bite” before! Milos was so confident that I would love them, that I put an order in.
What was brought to my table was large bite size portions of breaded deliciousness that is tossed in a Thai chili sauce with sesame seeds added.
Just looking at them I was impressed with the presentation because as they sat at my table they looked so perfect it seemed like they were popped right out of the pages of a food magazine.
And when I bit into them… literally there was nothing about it that had me thinking “cauliflower”. A hearty texture and a delicious taste. One of those “if ya hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t have known…”
Bowls and wraps are also just as popular as salads and while I didn’t get a chance to try anything from those categories, just looking at the menu I can see there there’s an incredible amount of variety and the menu options from a more American style Steak Out or BBQ Chicken Wraps to more international variations such as Teriyaki Bowl, Thai Rice bowl or Caprese Chicken.
For my main lunch entree I went with their new Berry Spring-er salad which is a perfect balance between a traditional mixed green salad base but also with the sweetness of fresh strawberries and blueberries. Candied pecans and chickpeas give it a delicious different texture, and fresh feta cheese sprinkled throughout adds a little bit of bite.
Milos suggested I add balsamic chicken to the salad, which when paired with the creamy balsamic dressing… beautifully delicious!
But before I took that first bite I sat there and looked at my salad for too long thinking “this looks too good to actually eat!”
I stopped in mid-afternoon at the end of the lunch rush and they were very busy with customers dining in, picking up orders as well as delivery service drivers. Luckily I hung out long enough for the lunch crowd to subside and I was able to get photos!
The key delivery services are supported by Salad House also supports delivery via their own app.
