Voorhees is the latest location for the rapidly expanding Royal Farms Convenience/Gas Station chain… and it is ready to open Thursday January 17th at the turn of midnight. The location is on Haddonfield-Berlin Road (561) on the site of the former Voorhees Municipal building.
The new store sits one property in from the corner, but to provide easy access to White Horse Road on the side, the new Royal Farms has access to the back entry road which connects to White Horse Road. This access road is shared with the Voorhees Police Department.
This property became available after Voorhees decided the cost to upgrade the old Municipal building was too high, and they moved to the Voorhees Town Center complex (fondly remembered as the Echelon Mall). The Voorhees Sun news outlet has the story of when the property was sold.
As described over at 42Freeway many times, Royal Farms is a direct “Super Wawa” competitor offering convenience store items, coffee and beverages, food items and gasoline. But where Wawa’s signature item is hoagies, Royal Farms has made a name for themselves with chicken. Already open area locations are Magnolia, Bellmawr, Gloucester City, East Greenwich… with many more in development.
The next area Royal Farms to open is expected to be in Gloucester Township on Blackwood-Clementon Road. Follow over at 42Freeway.com to keep up with retail news over in that area.
