Preview Look at Scoop DeVille Haddon Twp. Opens 1/22, Free Ice Cream Offer Thru Sunday

Scoop Deville Ice Cream in Haddon Township opens tomorrow Wednesday January 22nd at 3:30 PM. Starting with the opening and all the way through the end of Sunday (1/26)… they are offering a free small Signature Blend ice cream just for visiting!

Also, other varieties of ice cream and sizes are available at discounts ranging from 20 to 50% off!

I stopped in today and caught up with owner Spencer and his Scoop DeVille team who were working on the final preparations ahead of the big Grand Opening ribbon-cutting tomorrow. (Facebook Event)

Scoop Deville has two locations in Philadelphia, but honestly today in Haddon Twp was the first time I’ve had a chance to try their Signature Blend ice cream.

Sure there are other ice cream places that have a variety of ingredients that can be mixed in… but I wasn’t expecting to see at Scoop DeVille an innovative process where they’re able to blend your ice cream ingredients and have it come out just like a custard swirl!

My large Signature Blend had multiple layers of which each one was handcrafted with different ingredients… there’s a lot of work and love that goes into a Scoop DeVille ice cream!

And I know, I know…  I just wrote about the Scoop DeVille Haddon Township opening just ten days ago, but you know how I love to get that preview first look!

And when that preview also includes a chance to try delicious and innovative ice cream, as well as to tell readers about the exciting multi-day free ice cream promo…  well my arm doesn’t need to be twisted to get me to stop back in.

Even if is 18 degrees outside! And yes I tried filming an experience video while standing outside in the cold eating ice cream.

The sacrifices I make to inform the public. But honestly the temperature wasn’t bad at all. And the ice cream was amazing!

Spencer Phillips of Haddonfield brings his Scoop DeVille Ice Cream closer to home, with the opening of a Haddon Twp location

Scoop DeVille – Haddon Township

Scoop Deville started in Philadelphia back in 1989, and was later purchased by current owner Spencer who fell in love with the ice cream back when he was attending University of Pennsylvania.

With two locations open in the city, Spencer who now lives in Haddonfield has been looking for a place closer to home which he found on Haddon Ave.

The glass facade building was most recently a Rita’s Water Ice, but was originally developed as a Carvel Ice Cream store.

Spencer and I got talking about how not only was this location close to home, it’s also his first suburban location which includes a decent size parking lot… and it likely would bring new aspects to his ice cream business as families from a much wider area could drive in and park.

Plenty of parking at the new Scoop DeVille Ice Cream shop in Haddon Twp

I also politely joked that with his young children and home close by he’s likely to be a very popular dad over the years, as classmates and teammates of his kids become regular visitors to his Scoop DeVille ice cream shop.

This kicked in some memories for Spencer who shared that his father for several years was a youth athletic coach, and Spencer remembered regularly making that team ”big win” (or loss) visit to the local ice cream shop. Honestly in the city with limited parking that likely didn’t happen often at the Philadelphia Scoop DeVille locations… but is sure to be a regular spring and summer experience in Haddon Township!

Hmmm maybe it’s those fond memories of ice cream with Dad that inspired Spencer to take over Scoop DeVille years ago!

The Scoop DeVille on Haddon Ave shop has a retro late 60s vibe to it with an angled roof where the customer area is in the tallest side. The exterior walls in this main customer area are completely glass from floor to ceiling, but then partially covered at times to protect from the sun.

It makes for a bright and open ice cream shop that while not overly large, does have room for a few indoor tables.  The angled positioning on the lot corner also provides them some space out front for outdoor dining which will likely kick in when the weather turns warm.

Self-serve freezer cases offer ice cream cakes and other quick Grab-n-Go treats.

There’s a lot more to the Scoop DeVille menu which I covered with a little more detail… but what do more do you need to know? It’s amazing and innovative ice cream and more… just stop in and see for yourself, what else are you doing on a cold January! 🙂

Oh, and yes, they do offer vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free options.
